  1. Barring significant injury, Cueto would opt out. And would probably cost around Mejia, Gonsalves and another piece.
  2. Don't want to waste pitcher injuries in the minors.
  3. These aren't my personal favorites but they're amazing.
  4. Good thoughts. Twins have nowhere near the prospects to get all three. I see an underwhelming reliever and possibly a back end starter that is more a salary dump.
  5. This always struck me as an obvious and cost effective way to improve development on the margins. Good to see an improvement here.
  6. Looks like a 14-15 D lean on Congressional special elections and about 11 on State Legislature elections. Paul Ryan is a R+5 district right now. Would be poetic to see him go down.
  7. If he stays healthy, Thorpe will much higher on the next list. But I agree with Seth here, needs to show it.
  8. Now that's what I'm talking about!
  9. Even though it rightfully could (and perhaps should), not everything needs to turn into a Pearl Jam lovefest!
  10. And I always go back to this one by Pearl Jam, right before the 2004 election, less than 2 years into the Iraq War.
  11. Digging up my Pearl Jam/Neil Young version of "Rocking in the Free World" got me thinking of great covers. Here's my current favorite. My favorite Beatles song covered by a band I have a personal connection with, and an awesome video too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDbWJZ-yjF4
  12. Good word. I felt better about this team heading into the season, but I couldn't fully get over the trauma of last year. I remember much coversation about whether 20% chance to be in it, 10% chance of making playoffs was too optimistic. That would now be pessimistic.
  13. I was invited to ask the question so I will. What was the deal with the moderation in that thread? It was the most bizarre sequence of post, response, escalation (by a moderator) and moderation I have ever seen on this board. The original point was made, fair (and accurate imo) challenges to the point were subsequently posted and then it escalated into a discussion of intent of original poster vs. a response to what was literally posted. I understand wanting to protect some people, but the original point was made by a frequent poster, said poster seems capable of defending themself. So why did the responses to the responses escalate to saying the original responders were questioning intent of the poster rather than just challenging the original point made? Why this thread specifically? Is this going to be a common method of moderation going forward? (And for the record, I accept my penalty. I broke a rule that should be an automatic, no exception discipline)
  14. Most definitely, it lacks top end talent. Might be deeper in C+ level guys though. I would gladly trade depth for top end guys.
  15. We even have a near Addison Russell equivalent.
  16. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/05/24/security-services-missed-five-opportunities-stop-manchester/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Another interesting fact on the bomber, he was booted out of his Mosque and the local community had reported him to authorities multiple times.
  17. Fair, but sometimes it all just comes together.
  18. At the same time, his results show why the Twins pretty much stopped trying to throw him out there.
  19. I went unconscious. Not sure how long I was out.
  20. I would be careful not to mix religion and culture. And while all that say may be true about religion (I'm a little skeptical), it needs to be balanced, at least somewhat, with the great acts of charity and mercy it inspires.
