  1. I admire your ability to rip Molitor for both making too many moves and not enough moves in the same post. But that is second in my mind to saying Molitor has no feel for the game.
  2. Wait, people are now complaining because he didn't use Robbie Grossman (!) as a defensive replacement?
  3. I think he has been good with what he has been given. There have been some meltdowns, but otherwise he has handled a very mediocre bullpen quite well. The arms called up today were not brought here to pitch late innings with a lead. There were org filler guys here to eat innings if there was a short start. Pressly didn't have it, but the alternatives were worse. I realize our opinions are not easily reconciled, but we interpret the options differently. I don't blame Molitor for the lack of talent he has to work with, I credit the fact he has guided this group to the success they've had so far.
  4. I'm not especially loyal. In general, I don't think a manager matters all that much, but I think these complaints are misguided. Molitor can only work with the talent he has.
  5. Protect against a short start. He let Pressly dig a hole because the alternatives were worse.
  6. You're confusing front office issue with a manager/pitching coach issue.
  7. Wheeler is an org depth guy. I'm not putting him in a late inning game I'm leading. He's here to eat innings in a short start.

  9. Have you, at any point this season, ever thought the talent in the bullpen was good? Molitor has done better than I would have expected. And considering everything, I don't have any complaints on who he put it in either game at any time. I wouldn't have trusted the new guys in the 8th either.
  10. I was being sarcastic obviously. Not his fault what he has to work with. If he goes, whatever. But I wouldn't expect different results. Good chance it would even be worse.
  11. His inability to manage this bullpen is really damning.
  12. The fate was sealed in the offseason, confirmed when the prospects got hurt.
  13. Just the break Sano needed.
  14. Garver has two more options after this year. I'm starting to hope he stays down the whole time (getting regular at bats) just for the sake of the reactions.
  15. Seems they're happy with Duffey as a reliever and aren't going to move him. Gibson is a placeholder for lack of a better option.
  16. I think they would send Gibson down if they had a worthwhile replacement. There's just no one there at the moment. If he keeps it up Gonsalves might get a look in August, but until then, not much. Romero ends up in the bullpen in my mind.
  17. I'm not saying they should get rid of him. He has a role that he can play right now until a better option is found (and it is not all that easy to find a replacement). He has value while he makes the minimum and has an option. He can still provide production when used well. I don't like that he is going down, but there really isn't a better option at the moment.
  18. I would argue he has, this is what he is. A fine placeholder in his role, but pretty expendable.
  19. A decent primer from Heyman, thinking for both buying and selling. https://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/inside-baseball-70-players-hit-trade-block/
  20. Good point. I bet he starts tomorrow.
  21. Sounds like a mental break. I approve if it's well thought out. Is that really all you got for what you originally posted here?
  22. And the multiple hitters who couldn't get a runner home from third with less than two outs (or a two out single). Molitor should have managed them better.
