  1. I predict that barring injury this difference will be 10 games by the end of the year. It's Keplers first full season, they were going to give him a break against lefties early, get his confidence up. He's rolling now. Like most narratives it was exaggerated from the start and will look silly by the end of the year.
  2. Thought Shawn Green, but might be a little light.
  3. Infowars was pushing a different story in the last week involving Manchester. I do wonder if sex slavery from 10 years ago is all that related. Sex slavery seems to know no nation or race unfortunately.
  4. I had heard that, I thought you were referring to something more recent.
  5. This is the likely scenario. But it's fun to dream.
  6. And also an exaggeration.
  7. Of course you would, as would the Rays.
  8. Seems a little optimistic. But for Archer, if he was made available, the Cubs, for example, would start a package with one (or two) of Schwarber/Happ/Baez, and then probably add more. A platter of prospect depth would be laughable. Would have to start with Kepler or Polanco, and still not clear they could put enough together.
  9. Blackmail and/or kidnapping? But on a serious question, why would you not include Burdi, Jay or Romero? I would move those three in a heartbeat for Archer, not that it would make a difference anyways. A high volume of 100-150ish prospects don't get top of the rotation starters.
  10. There's snark, and then there's digging a bigger hole. Comparing a hot start by Avila to the emergence of a man child is how you end up looking silly. I don't necessarily think Sano is a 10 WAR player (yet), but he does seem a little bit better than 4.
  11. For Archer you should at least add Duensing. I understand why people are mad at the Twins for not making trades if they think that is even close.
  12. Agree. And someone like Gerrit Cole is certainly good, but already down to 2 years of control left after this season, and he has been trending (slightly) down as he starts to get more expensive. I can't support trading Kepler.
  13. I was intrigued enough to look this up. Please tell me this is based on something more than infowars.
  14. Everything is better when a trade is theoretical rather than nitpicking on what the actual cost would be. Hu is a great example. He's a borderline backend arm and people think it was the worst trade ever. But that's the cost of underwhelming relief help.
  15. I could see them doing it if they decide to extend Dozier. But wouldn't happen to the offseason.
  16. I'm not either, especially not Gordon, Gonsalves, Burdi, or Romero.
  17. Cueto won't be cheap, something like Mejia and Gonsalves for a rental.
  18. I think he is starting to exceed draft day projections/grades. He has performed enough that his last name no longer matters to me. He's not untouchable by any means, but it is now pretty clear to me that he has established enough to be clear what value the Twins are giving up, a future solid regular, probably at SS.
  19. He's also pitched as part of a 4 man rotation for a while. He might pull off 35 starts, 230-235 ip. Might not be an ace, but that's a horse.
  20. Also, should add, I'm not on Wright over Greene because he's "safer" but because he's a really good prospect. He has a pretty good floor (as much as pitchers can) but he also has plenty of upside. He has the ingredients to be an ace.
  21. Indeed there is no magic formula. All types bust all the time. I'm pretty heavy Wright, but would find Greene acceptable.
  22. This is one way I think national prospect guys do a slight disservice. They can identify a ceiling well but don't do the best at communicating risk and probability. Some of that is certaonly folded into prospect rankings.
  23. Keep adding assets, develop the best they can, and hope it pops at some point. But I wouldn't necessarily sit and wait. A lot obviously depends on the next 6 or so weeks.
  24. Dave Gassner Korecky was in the Eric Milton trade (with Silva and Punto)
