  1. I think Molitor has pushed starters (and Kintzler) a little more than he'd like because of the lack of trust. I think he's really hoping for Pressly to get right. I would call up Burdi.
  2. Not sure where you got a third guy he trusts.
  3. I personally think very little of xfip and what I've read is that it is losing favor overall. The "x" in xfip is not as meaningful as originally promised. But yes, Berrios has a high xfip because of fly balls.
  4. A veteran bat with minimal defensive value is one of the cheapest assets available at the deadline, so that's nice.
  5. I've been Wright for over a month. Even moreso now. I like his profile, still think there is upside. Seems he's got a very likely chance to be a 3 and could still be a 1. Plus he could get up next year. I also think the 2 way guys are overrated. I'm most interested in maximizing value one way and not accounting for the small chance some value is recouped if they fail on the mound. That said, I would accept a Greene pick, but looks like the Twins aren't going that way.
  6. I love (old) Alice in Chains. I just can't count them without Staley.
  7. I would skip AAA, bring him right up.
  8. A couple more starts like the last 7-8 and Wright will be very close to a representative 1. The big shame is no elite college bats.
  9. Other than Burdi and Chargois, these options are just re-arranging chairs. I'm not opposed to giving a guy a look, but I'd probably just keep the 40 man inventory other than adding Burdi (hopefully sooner rather than later).
  10. I personally have less confidence in his ability to start. Probably going to be the 6th or 7th guy in a decent pen.
  11. Duffey had a nice start to the season, and we talk a lot about him, but I'm starting to suspect he's just not that good. Seems his usage in situations where the Twins are trailing seems acceptable.
  12. They should have tried harder to sign someone like Napoli in the offseason.
  13. Is Richard any better than Hughes?
  14. Good call. I'm a Pearl Jam guy myself, but I can't argue with you.
  15. Good that you're not ready to stick a fork in him yet.
  16. Tough loss. Great musician. Is there anyone else other than Pearl Jam left?
  17. 2 game suspension from the team. Actually strikes me as a little steep.
  18. Much better. And will continue to trend towards better, even with the occasional ups and downs. It is a good thing that as a society we are working to remove references to gay people as a negative slur. I thought Pillar did good by himself in the way that he apologized. Exactly correct.
  19. I agree. I'm skeptical it was as bad as Law lays it out here. Goin has been in the position for around a decade, and they've had 2 or 3 people for multiple years prior to this. It was certainly lean and needed to be ugraded, but that seemed a little exaggerated.
  20. They're absolutely experts, among the most knowledgeable people on this topic in the entire world. If they aren't experts, then experts in this field don't exist.
  21. Do you hold everyone to this standard of trying to determine how much they internalize their apologies? Don't know how much more forceful he could be.
  22. I think this is a valid critique, but I'm not sure what the alternative would be. Probably wise to show some humility and not treat a list as perfectly ordered gospel, but treat it more as a general guide to show relative placement of a variety of players playing over a variety levels. It will always be more art than science. Being an aggregator of information from a variety of sources, blending that with skills, playing hunches, putting yourself out there. These are all skills.
  23. They need a starter for Monday, either him or Wilk.
  24. Not sure this is Pohlad's fault. Ryan left in June. The hire was basically in place in late August/late September, but Falvey didn't come over until the Cleveland season ended, which unfortunately was the last possible day of the baseball season. Not sure what else you wanted Pohlad to do (other than make a move like this in 2011)?
