  1. Burdi is the really interesting one. Might be about all about his medicals.
  2. I'd put Thorpe tier 1, and Slegers/Bard/Melotakis of tier 2 will almost certainly not be added to the roster. But really good list.
  3. The current period. Twins actually have two decent prospects they are going to sign once they turn 16. This gives them some extra money to work with in the interim.
  4. Meh. Unless they jump Gonsalves for some starts or bring Romero into the bullpen, no one in the minors they are likely to call up excite me that much. Backup catchers and middle relievers. Mostly going to run out the string with the same group we've seen all year.
  5. That Gray deal seems very light, unless Beane thinks he is about to break down again.
  6. I'm giving the front office some benefit but I agree. I would have kept the two and added another reliever, perhaps another in August if they still remained in the race. I thought they did perfectly fine with their returns considering what they were working with, but none of this is all that franchise altering. And I am much less interested in the rest of the season.
  7. Nice little return along with the international money. Twins traded the two guys they had to. Would expect some minor August moves too.
  8. From Sickels preseason: 14) Tyler Watson, LHP, Grade C+: Age 19, 34th round pick in 2015 from high school in Gilbert, Arizona; would have gone 30 rounds higher except he was committed to Loyola Marymount; signed for $400,000; 6-5 southpaw with strong ’16 campaign, 2.64 ERA with 64/15 K/BB in 58 innings between NY-P and Low-A, 46 hits, just one homer; low-90s heat with more projectable; already throws strikes with strong curveball, change-up coming along; highly intriguing prospect with breakthrough potential. SLEEPER ALERT. ETA 2020.
  9. From Fangraphs preseason list: Tyler Watson, LHP, 2.6 KATOH+ – Watson is a big, projectable lefty with a deceptive but ugly delivery that scouts think will necessitate a move to the bullpen where his fastball/curveball combo could play in middle relief.
  10. My prediction would be Dozier is either extended or traded to the Angels in the offseason.
  11. If he ever commits to that role, he could be awesome for many years.
  12. Too many relievers available for Belisle to go today. Going to be an August move.
  13. Gimenez will move on one way or another in August. The question is how quick do they finally call up Garver. Will probably depend somewhat on whether or not they move a bat today.
  14. I don't disagree, just thought it was a good balance to the Yankees hometown scouting report. I imagine his success at AA this year has bumped his prospect status up a little.
  15. I would agree with this. Belisle might have been the next best option, and he is extra bad on back to back days.
  16. He's also #99 on the mid-season stats-only KATOH list!
  17. Here is Fangraphs on Littell from the offseason: Zack Littell, RHP, 2.6 KATOH+ – Acquired in a November trade with Seattle, Littell is a pitchability righty with fringey stuff. He pitches heavily off of a loopy, early count-curveball and sequences well, but the stuff is that of a depth arm.
  18. Rosario needs to learn from Granite how to skip cutoff men and throw straight to unoccupied bases.
  19. But Pressly, Busenitz and Boshers (for starters) all strike me as easily replaceable with even a minor upgrade.
  20. Who said a Belisle clone? I would aim a little higher than only salary relief in a trade. But sure, I'd give Curtiss a try at some point.
  21. I thought Reed was going to do better in AAA. Alas.
  22. I would guess Garcia and Kintzler are going by Monday and nothing else. I would personally keep them and add a cheap rental reliever.
  23. They can move him but won't get much but salary relief.
  24. Was this meant as a defense ot trading Santana and signing a different free agent?
