This is just a theory, I have no idea the reason. I'll also add that quality of stuff matters too. Gonsalves has good stuff, but he's a tick below Romero and presumedly the other guys who have been bumped up. Gonsalves projects to be a 4ish type starter. If he was truly ready for the bigs he should be carving up AA lineups for at a minimum of 6 innings each start, and almost always 7. It's just not happening, tells me he likely has command issues. Bringing him to the bigs anytime soon is setting him up for failure. He'll likely be ready a couple months into next season. Needless to say, I think there is entirely too much angst about a month or two of promotion time. Rooker should probably move pretty soon, but beyond him players are fine where they are. Patience is not exciting. Relax.
