  1. This interview reinforced that we fired Zimmer at least 1, probably 2, years too late. And I say that as someone who very much appreciated him early on, but if you can only work magic with 90% of the payroll spent on defense.....that ain't magic. KOC is winning with Dobbs and Darnold and Mullins. That's a real coach. B-Flo had the defense playing well last year with a completely wrong set of talents in the front 7. That's a real coach.
  2. This win probably shifts me closer to 9-8 than 7-10. The defense is even better than I thought and Darnold can clearly work this offense.
  3. Whoops! Yup, but he may be out still then too.
  4. Suddenly 2-1 to start the season looks pretty achievable with Malik Willis at QB for the Packers. Watching this defense play in front of the home crowd agains San Fran is going to be interesting.
  5. Darnold looks really good. Like...stupid levels of hyperbole good. Jones looks electric and running with purpose. Lawrence was eating the interior alive early, but quarters 2 and 3 the OL has been dominant. Secondary is forcing Jones to throw to go through reads. Turner, Greenard, and Van Ginkel are a good pass rush.
  6. Dumb penalties, but this is a bad take.
  7. O-line has played much better.
  8. The defensive front has been money well spent.
  9. Oh shoot! A screen that worked!
  10. Back to back beautiful throws.
  11. This guy probably blames Rocco for the Vikings too.
  12. Sitting it out with the board controlled by that exact mentality. I'm trying to find a reason to give it another go, but it's clear what brand of conversation controls the narratives here.
  13. With all due respect Mike, I think you're letting the clickbait headline decide your takeaway more than what Royce actually said. He said he was worried that he wasn't helping. That he didn't feel comfortable. Dude was just being vulnerable. Should he have maybe thrown in some kind of "I'm a gamer" quote....sure. But he's a kid. One who is clearly scared he's going to hurt his team. That counts for a lot in my book.
  14. I just love this thread for taking someone's pre-fabricated opinion, which they stated as a fact, and then having it put on blast by still-frames that show how comically ridiculous that opinion was. What happened to the TD that had insight and discussion rather than toxic preaching that people have to counter with literal frame-by-frames?
  15. Or he's just being honest: he doesn't feel comfortable and he's worried it's going to work out poorly. I think it's fair to allow him to be honest.
  16. For a long time the argument was: Byron Buxton is "unlucky". Injuries aren't a matter of luck any more than hitting homeruns is a matter of luck. Genetics and skill come into play and Byron, for as fine a man and a player as he is, was not gifted with the genetics to endure the use of his tremendous talents. The bad luck wasn't on the field and never was. It was in his DNA. I feel for the man, it's got to be awful to endure.
  17. Rocco'd again! A team that's on pace to win 85-90 games despite a roster depleted due to ownership slashing payroll and the 11th most injuries in baseball? Pathetic. 140-22 is what a real man would do. Not this spreadsheet-reading nerd. We ought to just employ one of those vague, imaginary "better managers" that we will surely love and never toxically, chronically criticize. Instead, we'll do what rational humans do - we'll say "nice job Imaginary Human Who Doesn't Exist and Never Will...you helped us win today" and when we're upset we'll say "Well, Totally Not Real Person, I disagree a bit with your decision today. You're a fine Made Up Fantasy Being, but missed that one today" Toxic TD Gamethread Posters' Imaginary Super Wizard Manager >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> StatfreakRocco
  18. Not having your 2nd and 3rd makes tanking less ideal this year. Though having your QB does give leverage to trade down. I just want to see development from Pace, Addison, Turner, and the defense looking like an asset going forward.
  19. Another Rocco loss. If he would just read the stats correctly and see SWR is terrible and we have MANY options that are CLEARLY better...we win this game. Idiot can't even nerd right....
  20. Look...winning this game wouldnt have been hard. When those of us smart Twins are sitting down in our recliners in Willmar or Tuscon (escaping our sad, miserable, toxic existence) we can predict with perfect accuracy what Rocco should have done once events have already occurred. It isn't hard at that point once things happen and we retroactively apply our logic with new, previously unavailable outcomes. Had Rocco just gotten tossed in inning two pointlessly arguing....we save yet another loss. Pathetic.
  21. We'd have won this game if we hadn't been Rocco'd by the nationalized Canadien healthcare causing so many roster injuries. Commie.
  22. Ownership demanded this FO not set fire to the roster and tear down. I would bet my house that Kwesi would've traded Cousins if he wasn't shackled to him. The first draft was really terrible - new coach, new GM, and a terrible defensive hire combined into an epic failure. I think we've seen since that they have learned from it. This is the group I want to keep guiding the Vikings forward.
  23. We'd have won this game tonight if Rocco hadn't pulled Sonny early and turned it into a bullpen game. Moron.
  24. We're going to find out how much film study can replace playing experience next year with the QB. Let's hope all that cap room gets supplemented with some breakouts from LDR, Reichart, Murphy, Turner, Nailor, etc. As well as those investments in LB paying off. (I love all three)
  25. And I liked both picks. At this point it may be 3 years before we have an idea unless this draft and the 1st next year crush it.
