  1. Yeah, we saw your report, still waiting for evidence of your claim. Either you can't comprehend what you read or you're, again, trolling.
  2. Wait did someone just posit the idea of extending Blackburn through 2016? Well that "Pavano got a huge contract" statement didnt last long as "dumbest thing ever posted". Good god.
  3. Cute....how's that Buerhle evidence coming?
  4. The only baseless thing is your need to diminish opinions by slapping a "negative" label on them. Truth is Ryan has never made big contract splashes during his tenure. That is just the truth. We have 20 some million reasons to be justifiably wary of celebrating available payroll. Until it is actually spent (and spent wisely - looking at you Corriea) there is plenty to base that on. So definitionally your entire point here is just smug nonsense.
  5. Sure, but we're talking about 2016....we won't be at that point.
  6. Well, I seriously thought we'd have a 90M payroll next year...how'd that turn out? At this point negativity was what was served to us this offseason, not much baseless about it.
  7. Most managers are far more conventional or Gardy-like than I think people realize. I would suggest the vast majority of MLB managers would hit him third.
  8. To be fair, there is only one manager in the entire league I believe would bat Mauer second given this lineup. (Maddon) So I'm not sure Gardy-bashing is appropriate.
  9. Wasted by being pocketed. Nick implies it is a good thing for the club to have that much potential availability in the payroll, which normally would be very true. However, after this offseason, I'm hardly willing to count that as a positive.
  10. This offseason sure makes it hard to be confident about having a low expected future payroll. It just seems bound to be wasted.
  11. Are we sure Butera wasn't catching blindfolded and trying to use telepathy? It's the only explanation for that blasphemy!
  12. Clearly he doesn't believe hard enough. What we all need to be a bit more Disneyfied, that'll help for sure!
  13. Yes indeed it is sir. Though from the looks of this team it might be more like "If Mauer never gets hurt, plays catcher every day, and there is never a use for a good pinch hitter.....Butera doesn't have to be good" I'm sure all three of those scenarios will never happen. Rest easy.
  14. We should totally take that approach with our entire bench then! This is so brilliant! Why worry about filling out your roster with useful players when you can stuff them full of cheap garbage! I rest easily knowing now that Butera's utter inability to be a baseball player is in no way hurting our baseball team. Thank you sir.
  15. Because of their serious lack of talent. They moved two significant offensive players from a mediocre group last year and did nothing to replace them with anything other than major question marks. They added "meh" to "easily replaceable" talent to an awful pitching staff of a team that nearly lost 100 games twice in a row. There are serious questions about a number of players maintaining their production last year. I don't need to believe they can win a WS to enjoy them. I love the Twins, will always be a fan, but that doesn't entail delusion. If you have to be delusional to be a fan, good for you. I don't.
  16. Drew Butera once hit a homerun in a game. There is nothing concrete to say he can't do that every game for an entire season.
  17. So your problem is that you are illiterate? Seeing as how you can't understand my point, I fail to see the need to respond to any others you have. By your logic - Correia was a "huge" contract. Doubling down on this embarrassing nonsense seems like a bad decision. But I'm done feeding the trolls. Either post an actual "huge" contract given to a pitcher by this team or give us that citation for you 3/39 offer to Buerhle or by all that is holy stop trolling!
  18. Unless the league starts letting us have a handicap where two guys throw at once - having this many "bleh" guys is not an advantage. In order to have lots of options, your options have to be worthwhile to begin with.
  19. No, that was not the point. I said the Twins are hesitant to dole out big FA contracts. They are extremely hesitant to sign any pitchers to huge contracts - FA or not. You then countered with Pavano as a counter example of a "huge" contract. Not to mention Morneau and Mauer as counterexamples. (To what, I don't know) Either way, that Pavano remark is easily one of the most embarrassingly bad examples in internet history. I'm fairly certain that is only light hyperbole.
  20. Reg (or anyone else) I'm no gun expert.....so care to share thoughts on what Obama presented today? I'm curious to see the details on the two mental health provisions that are executive orders, I haven't seen much about what that entails so far.
  21. I fail to see how your comment about Pavano is any different. Or, for that matter, how your relentless inability to understand what "evidence" is any different. I simply can't believe anyone could argue the points you have the last few weeks with a straight face. It's not possible. I've tried to point out the massive, gaping flaws in your "arguments" and you just keep going. It's not an insult, that's the definition of trolling.
  22. Yup, how significantly behind we don't know. Unfortunately, facts don't work with trolling methinks.
  23. I thought you were playing the "unless it's reported we can't make assumptions" game with everyone else? Why do you insist on having different standards for your assumptions than others? It's beyond annoying at this point. I have to believe you're intentionally using this hypocrisy to troll. Wait! Those guys pitch and we didn't use them last year! Oh, wait, you didn't read what I wrote. Should've seen that coming given your recent trolling. I won't address the other nonsense - Pavano was a huge contract to a pitcher? Seriously? That's shameful nonsense.
  24. Story of Manti Te'o girlfriend death apparently a hoax - ESPN ND is such a bunch of divas.
  25. Perhaps they should apply that craft to baseball and signing free agents.
