  1. Again 10 pounds is being made out to be a character issue. And it utterly ignores the much bigger character strengths of this young man all to portray him as lazy without the drive to be great. There shouldn't be any Twins fan that lines up to support that kind of nonsense. The freaking kid lost his own child and played his $&* off to come back from injury. I want that kind of heart, screw the 10 pounds. That's cheap hit piece garbage. Go Miguel Sano. I hope he ignores anyone that buys into this claptrap.
  2. This article says the cell phone bing is her smoking gun. Heh. Go ahead and rile yourselves up that it matters. It won't, that's some flimsy BS right there.
  3. I kind of hope this is the smoking gun she's been blustering about. I would get a good, solid laugh at all the people that are just droning their way into support of this without thinking for a damn second about whether it actually has merit or not. This, in and of itself, is pretty damn useless. And to be attacking the former defense as idiots for not using it makes me think this is the smoking gun.
  4. Unions aren't evil, but they come with a host of their own issues. Anyone on the left end of the political spectrum that doesn't buy that I have one word for you: Police. But the larger point I agree with, voting for Republicans is generally not in anyone's interest at this point.
  5. I was on the Rand Paul bandwagon for exactly that reason. He has some other untenable positions, but that one issue would be enough to get my vote. Start cutting defense and I'm on your bandwagon.
  6. He appears to be philosophically open to the idea, but the complete lack of specifics indicates it pretty much ends there. Which makes sense, it's still very politically dangerous, but he's not planning to cut spending by any of what is posted there.
  7. Except that really is a huge thing. No one, on either side of the aisle, is advocating what is the most obvious place we should be getting our house in order. Hell, when I read your post my first thought was "Wait...Sanders is saying he'd do that? How the hell did I miss that...." It's the rarity of that stance that caught my eye. And some of what Sanders is promoting is about free stuff - his approach on education is to protect the Big Banks of higher education. Just those big banks have been lefty supporting for so long he's lost the forest for the trees.
  8. Apparently we just can't have nice things. That's the bottom line to this - gotta find some way to tear it down if we start getting glimpses of greatness.
  9. I'd also be interested in hearing where Bernie said he would slash military spending. I thought most of his promises were being funded by taxing Wall St. If that's something he's saying he's doing, I'd love to see some evidence of that. I'm eagerly awaiting a candidate that will step into the fire of that issue and advocate defense slashing.
  10. The use of pinging a cellphone isn't an exact science, it's not particularly strong evidence of anything. It might be helpful to some more concrete evidence, but beyond that it's trivial at best.
  11. He forgot to tell him about the sign to keep those damn kids from playing on it too.....
  12. Over, I think Moustakas or Hosmer takes another step forward as a hitter.
  13. If this is the smoking gun she's been pimping for months she's going to look like a total fool in the court room.
  14. The Netflix shows are really good but yeah, in a year with this many it's a valid complaint. I would like a little less and I'm a comic nerd. Then again, without saturation we'd never have Deadpool...so it isn't all bad.
  15. This Daredevil season and Agents of Shield themes really depresses me as an X-men fan. Sell the rights back Fox, for the love of god. Before the Inhumans are further trumped up as something other than D-list schmucks.
  16. I think by the time that's happening we're talking about a 75 year old candidate. People are going to have to let that idea go.
  17. Where's that Nolasco riot thread when ya need it?
  18. Under, this team still can't hit their way out of a paper bag.
  19. Biden-Warren would have been a better ticket for sure. I don't have anything against Elizabeth Warren, I disagree with some of her solutions but she's a very smart and on point about what she is passionate about. She's just not a good Presidential candidate.
  20. I could definitely see myself voting for him.
  21. It's not the socialism angle so much as it is that Warren is kind of a one-trick pony. She's really good at that one trick, but a President is about much more than income inequality. Hell, you could argue out of all the major offices to hold, President may be the least influential on that front as any. She does and knows one thing really, really well, but she has basically no legs to stand on in regards to a host of other issues, foreign policy chief among them. The world is a big, complicated, and scary place and it takes a lot to try and manage those issues. I hold up foreign policy - for the office of President - as by far the most important trait I look for in a candidate. And, like Bernie, I just don't think she has anything to offer in that regard. But she's doing a damn fine job keeping the big banks in check and being an advocate against that. She should probably just stick to what she knows than try and stretch herself to cover a lot of things she isn't as comfortable with.
  22. The parties have both done a fantastic job limiting intelligent people with common sense, reasonable ideas from having a voice. It's in neither of their best interest these days.
  23. You're right, it's an opinion I disagree with, but largely because of how ridiculously unfair it is to Sano. The kid doesn't deserve that article.
