  1. I'd argue not understanding their place in the rebuild process is THE fundamental problem for this team.
  2. So our struggles are now the fault of the personalities of Sano and Arcia? Good gravy.
  3. It was pretty much universal that Fien was a terrible idea. And what has happened with Milone is what happens when you continually default to low ceiling players over higher ones. If that's the metaphor you want to go with - why the hell has it taken twenty years to figure out how to call a tow truck? It isn't reliant on hindsight, these exact problems were predicted frequently this offseason. You're deliberately trying to go against the crowd of opinion here and pat the Twins on the back for what looks to be a decision to bring Darin Mastroianni in to save the season. Sorry, but that deserves nothing but derision, not congratulation.
  4. There are a few posts walking that line. I can get behind the idea that at least we aren't being complacent but let's keep in mind that this course correction is necessary because of some really obviously bad decisions that people have been talking about since November.
  5. Personally, I'd like to see that happen right now, but I'll take it when I can get it I guess.
  6. Let's not work too hard to pat the Twins on the back here. This is like praising your kid for calling the tow truck after he rammed the car into a tree.
  7. Bringing him in to compete is fine. To default to him over Trevor May is the problem. And now May is in a place he has publicly stated to be uncomfortable in and Milone is on waivers.
  8. Speculation - I have no basis for it. I'm just wondering out loud if that's what is going to come out.
  9. So, is this based on the team wanting to shuffle the roster or Milone pouting about being in the bullpen? I wonder where the impetus for that started. We heard all offseason about how crucial and underrated Milone is and here we are 5 days into April and the guy that bumped May from the rotation is one step short of being given away for nothing. That's, by far, the worst part of this. We built our roster, in part, around Milone. I'm glad the team is correcting mistakes, but holy christmas.....we should expect our administration to avoid mistakes altogether not make continually make the same ones.
  10. I wish the games mattered too, but part of the reality of building a young group of talent is that it can come with some erratic swings in performance. I'll look for the positives in the young guys and hope that results in some wins at the end of the season to build on for next year. It's a very Timberwolves-like approach, which is not meant as a compliment, but it's also the reality of rebuilding. It's one of the biggest reasons every time someone tells you to mark your spot for the parade route just a year or two after prospects start debuting - you should laugh at them. That's not how things work, patience is a major part of the equation.
  11. Yeah, his results weren't good....do the Twins bear some of that responsibility? I'd say so. Let's put it this way, would the Twins jerk Hughes or Santana around like this? The answer is no and the reason would be because it isn't fair to the pitcher to expect them to be at their best without consistency in their role and expectations and yet we routinely do this to young pitchers and then sit around talking about how they didn't immediately pitch an amazing game. I don't see why young players should have any different expectations for their role or usage than veterans, if anything they should get MORE understanding. Yet the Twins have had this backwards for a long time.
  12. Voting Kodos is looking better by the day eh? http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/bf/87/a0/bf87a040df75a346d0c4a68db192edbf.jpg
  13. It's May 4th and virtually everything about this team not named Park and Mauer is an unmitigated disaster. I expected them to go back a step this season, but they're tumbling down the hill head over heels. And as someone who has been a vocal supporter of Molitor, my confidence in that choice has definitely been shaken.
  14. If you want to really have fun....google people trying to justify these. My favorite: God didn't kill those kids with bears, he just let them die to teach them a lesson.
  15. Aw...hell, for you religious folks too. But holy crap I can't get over the bears story and it only gets better!
  16. Correct, they hint that Aegon had a thing for Tywin's wife.
  17. Cruz goes out with the most unintentionally hilarious speech ever.
  18. Yup, the NHL has it right and has for years. Why that hasn't been copied is baffling to me.
  19. I always assumed the worst person his dad hung out with was Ted himself....
  20. I'd sooner believe a twin brother, but I don't buy that Tyrion is a Targ.
  21. It's not a mistake if you gambled another bad player to get him. I'd like to see him get a good, long run as the starter this year to see what we have. We know Hicks is awful, let's see if we can still win this deal.
  22. In this case it's not just perception but reality. I am rooting for Trump in some ways too - man I dislike Cruz. Seeing him lose to a joke like Trump destroys everything about who he says he is. The establishment is actually backing him and he still can't get anyone to like him. I hope after this he crawls into a hole and never comes out again.
