    If you hit homeruns it doesn't matter what base people are at or how slow they are.

    You don't necessarily have to trade great prospects for veterans at the trading deadline. Most deals aren't Smoltz for Doyle Alexander. There are lots that are Fred McGriff for Melvin Nieves or Mark McGwire for TJ Matthews and Eric (not Ryan) Ludwick. Even Bill Smith managed to acquire Pavano, Cabrera, Rauch for nothing.

    I tried to google this but came up with NSFW content so my question is can anyone recall an Asian pitcher having Tommy John surgery before? Maybe the U.S. should look more into how Japan handles its pitchers with higher pitch counts and an extra day of rest between starts. Or maybe there are cases and they're all just weeded out before they come over here.

    Sad to watch. You have to respect a guy that fights like hell to keep doing what he loves. By all accounts he is a stand up guy (at least to my knowledge). He had a solid Miguel Batista-type of career.

    I'm excited to watch Bonderman today. I love watching these guys that haven't pitched in a few years try to make comebacks like Bonderman, Chris Young, Kazmir, Harden, etc. One of my fondest Metrodome memories was of Bondmerman carrying a one hitter into the eighth and then getting Dome-balled into a loss with a bunch of choppers and then him melting down and kicking the water cooler in the dugout.
