  1. This is a nightmare. We need a fourth catcher ASAP. Ryan, please get on the phone and offer up Sano for Butera.
  2. Did I see that stat correctly? Mauer 1 career walkoff hit.
  3. Do you think any other front office gets as much **** about their philosophy as ours? Teams may get ripped for being cheap or for making stupid moves, but I don't know of any other fan base that hates its team's philosophy like we do.
  4. That seems a bit excessive to me.
  5. And if he pimps a homerun and a brawl ensues, lovely, Twins fans could use some entertainment. When was the last time the Twins were involved in a legitimate brawl anyway?
  6. I hope Sano lays down and takes a nap after his next homerun, wakes up three hours later, and then meanders around the bases with his two middle fingers extended the entire trip around the bases.
  7. And the night is complete! One final Butera at bat! We just need one more horrendous Blackburn start to wipe the slate clean.
  8. "Another good plate appearance by a Twins youngster." Naturally it was Bernier they were referring to.
  9. One of my favorite pitchers of the past 10+ years suffered a horrific injury covering first base tonight. There's videos on youtube, but you don't want to watch it. I wish him well in his recovery and hopefully this isn't the end of his career.
  10. I have far more faith in Deduno than Blackburn... er.... Diamond.
  11. Deduno just a gamer! Easily the most entertaining Twins player of the past decade.
  12. Most likely scenario: Kennedy drills him, brawl ensues, Parra knifes him.
  13. Will we even remember the name Doug Bernier? It got me thinking about other former Twins that have been called up briefly and looking through past rosters I had absolutely no recollection of Keith Garragozzo, Mike Milchin, Mike Duvall, David Lamb, Jose Rodriguez, Carmen Cali, Jose DePaula, or Ryan Jorgensen. I was shocked to realize I actually remembered specific moments from guys like Jon Shave, Dan Masteller, and Oscar Munoz.
  14. So we clearly didn't learn from any of the past 20 seasons. Arrieta and Norris are marginally better than what we have now. I don't care if we win 68 games or 58. Either go big or go home.
  15. Braun has always carried himself as a douche bag and I'm not sorry that he finally is getting what he deserves. I would hope for his contract to be voided but I'm certain that someone else would come along and offer him a bigger contract so he'd still win.
  16. Suspended for the remainder of a lost season. They should all be suspended for the beginning of next season.
  17. He pitches like Nick Blackburn.
  18. What is irritating about these trades is that we dealt players from our active roster (or would have been had they not been injured). The extreme majority of trades between contenders and non-contenders is veteran for prospect and it always annoyed me that we had to give up an all-star from the previous season in order to get a pitcher. The same could be said for when we traded Kielty for Stewart. It worked out well for us but I can't think of another team that would have dealt a player on their active roster instead of a prospect.
  19. I'm glad that was called a hit. Cabrera had to range several inches to his right to field that one.
  20. TK has an unhealthy love for Doumit.
  21. Are you talking about Game 163 or this gem:
  22. Why does hie need to post a .900 OPS to be considered for ROY. This year's crop of rookies is not having the same impact as previous seasons. Unless someone catches fire it will be a Bobby Crosby ROY situation.
  23. Regarding Hicks' ROY candidacy if his numbers end up decent he is putting together a nice highlight reel of catches and now his throw that will stick in the mind of voters and could possibly put him over the top if it's a close race.
