I read he got a degree in English Lit. from Stanford. So he's obviously intelligent. Maybe he has the smartest guy in the room mixed with overzealous fan thing going?
My Saint Bernard thinks he's a greyhound. He thinks he has to travel every acre on the property and the 7000 acres surrounding me. Now I have to mop up Lake Drool. I'm missing the damn hit parade. RIP Jerry West. The Logo
I should have phrased it as a day game after a night game. Didn't all 3 play last night? That's what I should have asked. But my brain hurts. I ate at Dennys
I don't have any data, but it seems like the Twins shift more than other teams. It also seems like the opponents ability to just punch a ball through the open hole to defeat it is much better. Is this all based on analytics and approach. I know. The answer is YES
I'm not sure how much he helped in creating anything. I believe he was handed the playbook after the fact. Varland was slated to go 5 innings. The press box alluded to as much. Call it strategy or projection or whatever. But I'd wager there was no scenario that had Varland at 64 pitches after 5. That's when the in game decisions present themselves. And yet Rocco still made the move. So I'm not so sure he is one of those 50%.
Thielbar was warming up in the 5th. Even before the Margot error. He was coming out even if he had a no-no going. As @USAFChief said. It was predetermined. I totally disagree with the move. But Rocco will do the same thing if it happens again
