  1. I'm a little upset about the grammatical error... The space they gave is about 2 inches... on a pretty big monitor. So I didn't catch it. I heard on the radio in Wisconsin this week that Senators have been hearing at 3:1 or even 6:1 to hold hearings. I would hate to vote against Grassley because I like him, but I will.
  2. Morning Sen. Grassley, I am writing you great disappointment today. I have supported you and felt you've had the best intentions for our state/nation. I've voted for you, and influenced others to do so as well. However, your obstinate position toward a nominee for the Supreme Court is shameful. The Republican party is falling apart, as seen by Mr. Trump's unprecedented support from the base. The party must adapt to the changing political landscape, and needs leaders. You've been a major proponent of alternative energy and worked across party lines to get things accomplished. The current politicians unwilling to compromise and find solutions are going to begin to be held accountable. Please do not succumb to an outdated and crumbling ideology. Your voters are intelligent enough to see the hypocrisy in your current position about the nominee. Party affiliation is not going to help you. Again, I urge you to reconsider and begin doing your job. I didn't vote for you to take an obstructionist approach. I didn't vote for you to hypocritically lead the Judiciary Committee. I thought I voted for you because you would stand up to this none-sense. I wont vote for you if you don't begin to lead rather than follow the people which have caused much of the anger within our country. Sincerely, Jestin Hulegaard Manson, IA
  3. Is it fair to say this thing is over? I mean, there really isn't any way Clinton and trump get the nod is there? I think both should claim enough delegates to win out right? If there was ever a year for a third party candidate, this is it.
  4. You care too much about what that guy writes.
  5. I wonder if there was some cooperation behind the scenes. Either way, it's better there wasn't a decision by the court.
  6. I'm going to send senator Grassley an email about this issue. I like Grassley and have supported a good majority of the things he has done in the Senate. However, if he aligns himself with this new obstructionist ideology i will help vote him out. This issue, combined with a trump candidacy, is going to crush this party in November. Iowa is a mostly conservative state, but things are going to get weird this year. If democrats flood the polls to stop trump, Grassley could very well lose his seat for this. Especially when the heat gets turned up on him particularly.
  7. I'm pretty sure free speech even guarantees the right to hate speech. Free is free. There is no buts. When it becomes illegal is when that speech turns into actions.
  8. Ooooo, i read it as single white female web sites.
  9. Pornhub. Great content there.
  10. Lol getting weird.
  11. It will be fun to follow this case. I'm almost positive it ends up in the supreme court. If course, by then it might be too late to use any of the information (if there is any).
  12. I think it comes down to if the FBI has probable cause. If there is information that can allow them to find groups in the world that would make us safer. If they have no reason to think they will gain anything ity of this it isn't worth it. From what Brock is describing, i don't even know if it will be possible.
  13. Brock you're acting like the tech world will forever be compromised. I don't think that is the case. You can't just "stop saying terrorist" when that is what this is actually about. Seriously, this is about terrorism and not the government getting as back door into your phone. I like my personal freedoms. I dwell like i have a bunch of freedom in this country, even with the damned patriot act. Which i do hate. And I'm not scared. I also don't do shady ****, and if the government wants to know what kind of shemale porn i watch they are wasting their time on me. I don't think my personal information is ever supposed to be private when faced with a subpoena. Why do you? It's rather problematic that we handcuff ourselves with the notion about privacy and freedom while at the same time want to be safe. Maybe this isn't even possible for Apple to do and it will drag annoyingly on forever. Maybe Apple and the FBI figure out a way to avoid this in the future. No matter what happens, I'm not going to fear the government wants to hack my phone because of this, you shouldn't either.... That doesn't mean they don't want to, or they won't try.... I'm just not wasting my time worrying about it.
  14. I stopped watching that circus half way through. The only reason to continue was to keep watching Megyn Kelly.
  15. That is so awesome.
  16. Those are good points, and i agree with you about Apple making the smart choice of cooperation on their terms. Where i digress is over whether the government has the power to tell a company what to do. On this particular issue, where lives were lost by such a cowardly act, i don't mind it. This is a topic we haven't had to deal with ever before. While the ramifications might.... might infringe on our personal freedoms, look at it from the other side. If the FBI is not allowed to access phones, that ruling could be expanded in the other direction. Phones could simply be off limits to any searches. Think about the potential evidence that could be locked away forever. Again, Apple needs to just work with them and avoid a court ruling, because i think they will lose.
  17. If you magnify this enough, sure you can look at it from individual freedoms. Brock, this is your area so i know this hits close to home for you. Thing is, when issued a subpoena about information, i don't think privacy laws protect you any more. The only safe place anymore are encrypted cyber vaults with tricky passwords and bunches of science protecting the information. Who likes science (it's not to be trusted). Seriously though, there needs to be cooperation on this issue. I understand the stupid privacy thing, but on the other hand you have national security against terrorism. To me, you have to give up something. Just like the gun rights issue. There can be compromises and solutions, just let go of your Dicks and find common ground.
  18. What do you have to hide? The idea of foreign beneficiaries of this ruling is preposterous and arrogant. Countries don't fall all over US policy like that. They can make their own policy, regardless of the outcome here. The problem they will have, is
  19. What is everyones take on this? I side with the fbi currently. If the information on that phone can lead us to terrorists... do everything possible to access it. When it comes to court ordered extraction of information, why is a cell phone exempt? I find Apple's argument weak. They build software for a business, they know how to keep it out of the wrong hands.
  20. Good luck indeed. I've been reading varying takes on trump and the gop from around the world. The fracture of the party is not an opinion isolated to this discussion. We've been talking about it for a long time, but it's actually unraveling before our eyes. I'm stunned. I've voted Republican since i could vote.
  21. I'm curious to see what this speech by Romney is going to be about. At this point, the gop is pulling everything out of the bag to try and correct this race. Problem is, their only hope is a hardline evangelical tea party that has no tolerance and an inexperienced robot that wants to send troops around the world. I think they need to reevaluate who they let run for the nomination.
  22. The thing about Roe v wade... Is that the only way to overturn it is in the supreme court. I don't see it happening.... Ever. I don't think it is a serious platform, unless you're Ted Cruz. The only thing a politician can do is vow to nominate a judge that is against it. My mother in law disagrees with me about that, but that is why we have three branches of government.
  23. You're missing the point. The point is, a new Republican party needs to shift policy. They need to embrace lgbt rights, legalizing marijuana, fixing corrupt policies that favor corporations, and income inequality. That needs to happen for this party going forward or they will continue to lose.
  24. The destruction of the gop is embarrassing for our country. The entire world watches who we nominate.
  25. Why? The people voting in the primary are a small percentage of the people that will vote in November. By then, he will have debated with Clinton and been destroyed. With Sanders she has a reason to play nice, with trump she doesn't..... Especially since the gop won't be fully behind trump.
