  1. Yeah.... That ball at three end was very nicely thrown. I thought we were going to see more of Morgan earlier in the season. Indiana isn't a barometer, but I'd stick with him for sure after this game.
  2. They won! I didn't get to watch it, but from the recap it seems they were killing it, then stumbled in the fourth, but pulled it out with a beautiful throw and catch. Next week should be winnable too. After that, if Fleck finds a way to beat Wisconsin, I call it a good season.
  3. I do not have enough faith in our society to believe we are above repeating history. Like I said in the other thread, I live in Steve Kings district. I talk to my neighbors, I see their Facebook posts... The degradation of values and compassion is startling. The similarities to how Nazism began is also startling. It isn't ludicrous to call an extreme right wing person a Nazi... because that is exactly what Nazis are.
  4. I absolutely see the message of the Trump gop as a Nazi message. I have absolutely no shame in stating that. Not all republicans follow. I'm a huge John Kasich fan. There was a guy once that said they are who we thought they were. When someone walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, they are a duck. Did we forget what led to the rise of Nazism? Nationalism. Anti sematic. Populism. Xenophobia. And the most commonly attributed quality is the purity of the Aryan race. But it didn't start there. Hitler took over the party in 1921, it wasn't until decades later they began killing people. Years of propaganda and lies. There is every possibility this could happen again.
  5. I'm glad they caught him, and nobody was hurt. It would help the country is Trump stopped enticing physical violence against his critics.
  6. I'm not debating this with you until this season is over. You think Fleck took over the same types of programs as Kill and Mason, and that Mason had the same facilities. We obviously don't have the same expectations.
  7. All I could think about this whole thread is watching Nishi attempt to turn a double play... my favorite part of the Nishioka era was Naoko.
  8. I'm not defending his actions by any means. My only point is, the investigation isn't done, and the main misconduct related to him is a ticket to Broadway the FBI got him to try to set him up... and he seems to have plausible deniability. He can absolutely be lying, and there could absolutely be more we haven't heard about. I feel the same way about Republican ethics inquiries where the amount is a couple hundred dollars. Doesn't make it right, I just don't find it as severe as those that are breaking the rules multiple times for multiple thousands.... or millions. Take Mike Sexton in my state district. His wife bought a building for 20k or something less than a block from my house a few years ago. He has been charging the state rent for an office ever since. He's charging $500 a month, paid to his wife. The money they've received had already paid over half the cost of the building. That by itself is a little suspect, but the kicker is there is NEVER anyone there. I've passed the office hundreds of times, and not once was there a person at the office. So he's over charging the state rent for a building he owns, and doesn't have an office in. That is a problem.
  9. If this allegation against him is true... he accepted a ticket to a play on Broadway. I don't know much about this case, but this is apparently the big gotchya. I don't know how much those plays cost, but if that is all they've found in a big investigation... color me unimpressed. Let's actually investigate our president and his family for business ties and political favors. I think there'd be a lot more than a play found.
  10. None of them took over a team that went 5-4 in the big ten, and 9 wins overall the year before. Fleck took over an established solid team, and has turned it to **** so far. Maybe Claeys wouldn't have done any better, but coming within a yard of beating Michigan to getting stomped by a 0-6 Nebraska team is notable. Fleck did not inherit a mess like Kill, or Mason. Fleck also has a new stadium, new facilities, a great economy for opportunities post college. The more I think about it, the less excuses he has. The season is not over, so I'm not judging until it is, but... I don't like what I see and neither should anyone else.
  11. I believe many millions of people would say Trump qualifies for that. I cringe thinking about the ramifications of his response to a true tragedy.... He basically blamed the media for bombs being sent to people and organizations he's slandered for years.
  12. I don't think much of Murray. He is a big, strong back that can get yards when he has the blocking. He doesn't make guys miss, doesn't have great vision, doesn't have great speed... He is a replacement level player.
  13. I did the math once, but I'll have to do it again for the past 5 presidential elections for what you're describing Brock. We are a representative democracy, but I don't think it is fair the lowest population states have so much say over our politics. Republican or Democrat, that isn't how it should work. My only solution Mike, is to add more states.
  14. Levi, the failure of this reasoning, is to project the idea that it is ok letting the minority of Americans make decisions for the majority. If requiring leaders to reach out to people in all walks of life is the reasoning, why is it ok for the gop to rely on rural America to to dictate policy? I don't think our constitution was created with this in mind, or they electoral college. When the union was formed with a dozen states, is argue it was to prevent a few of the largest states from creating policy/leaders that only benefited them. Now, we have only a handful of states that matter in our election.
  15. I went and looked at vote totals for mid term elections vs presidential elections. Man, there is a huge difference. Typically, a party can expect astound 60m for presidential, and 40m for midterms. Democrats only turned out 35m in 2010 and got rocked. I have to wonder why people don't care enough about Congress to vote in midterms.
  16. I did take the map part literally. It isn't the map that is favoring democrats, it is an overwhelming opinion of Americans. I think they are different. The only reason so many of those seats are up for grabs is the enthusiasm by Democratic voters....
  17. Great news for Vikings and Everson. How he gets to breeze a few times...
  18. I'm in Amarillo, and listened to conservative talk radio this morning. They are pounding the mob rule scare tactic and praising the electoral college. The message revolved around those elitist liberals from big cities don't know what is best for rural America. My issue with that is, currently we have a minority of Americans in rural areas, deciding what is best for the entire country, not just rural America. The Republican message works really well at the state and local level... Not so well when you expand it to an entire country.
  19. The house most certainly does not favor the democrats. The house favors republicans by about 5 points since 2010, and the democrats are finally going to overcome that gap. If the house was fair, democrats would have won it in 2012. Gerrymandering has created a huge advantage.
  20. A small investment like that is worth the 2 days of build up to eventual let down.
  21. What time is the deadline today? I'm buying a few for good measure, could be worth the 2 dollars...
  22. If the discussion we are having now, is about voter turnout.... I think democrats have to get dirty. Republicans use fear? They need to use fear. Hammer use fear to motivate people to vote, and people to change sides. Obviously, that is a message democrats are terrible at. Get pundits on faux news that can put people in a box. Harp on corporations and big money controlling the gop. Call republicans Nazis as much as possible. without doing it too much. Show how weak Trump is. End citizens United.
  23. Why don't they just boil the water and put it in the fridge? People are easily scared into making rash decisions....
  24. When does Everson come back? The next 5 games decide if this team is a legit contender. NOLA, then division games, and ending with new England. Bye week in the middle will be a well deserved rest. See how the defense plays when on the big stage. A 4-1 performance would be pretty good.
