I agree the mass exodus of people from Central America is a real problem. I don't believe the problem lies with the people coming here, the problem lies with the bad actors in these regions. Why aren't we helping? We spent trillions in the middle east, but haven't lifted a finger in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras or any of the other Mexican countries. You really want a solution? Declare the war on drugs can take us to these areas and actually use our military force for something good for once. Stop criminalizing people with nothing. No possessions. No money. Nothing but their lives. These people are a symptom of the problem, and it will continue until the region is stabilized.

I hate the term illegals. It is a false narrative about what is actually happening. The illegals you're referring to, are likely asylum seekers. My solution would be to process these people more efficiently at the border. Create a tiered classification system, where not everyone is granted asylum, but a lot of people are. I'm not sure how to set this up, or how many people to let in. Why are you so scared of immigrants? Almost all of us descend from immigrants or colonizers. They aren't here to control territory and claim it under a new country fwiw....

It is a whole lot easier to blame a group for their problems when they're considered tainted. This is how all the nasty genocides in our history have been undertaken. That is why many of us rise up when this type of narrative arises. Blacks. Mexicans. Arabs. It used to be Japanese, Irish, Jews.... and still blacks. This isn't new, just new groups getting pointed at that aren't Caucasian. Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated not that long ago... and let's remember, he was fighting FOR civil rights. Meaning, we were a long way from black lives matter at that point. Now, we have a group that just wants the police to stop killing unarmed black men... and it is some kind of controversy. Damn.

You absolutely ignored my entire post to run away from the things you said, like you've done during this whole discussion. If you think I have sympathy for black or Asian or Mexicans that commit violent crimes, you're mistaken. All races are capable of hate crimes. However, this discussion is about systemic racism of blacks.... I don't think you have an open mind about this topic at all.

You're using old numbers first of all... Secondly, part of the vicious circle of poverty is crime, including violent murders. In fact, the more affluent a person is, regardless of race, the less likely they are to commit violent crimes. That is a fact. Also, black people live in a higher proportion of poverty than white people. Fact. Black people are accused and convicted of a higher proportion of crime... Also fact. Are you seriously arguing race relations were better before the civil rights movement than they are now? Wow dude. You should actually try to understand black history in our country. I don't think it affects you, so you don't care.

Shame. I filed my taxes for free using free file fillable forms. Recommend it to any that have the patience to go through their taxes line by line. Mine aren't that complex, but I wouldn't qualify for the free filling at turbo tax.

Still paying off student loans. Have a nice amount saved now, but not enough to pay them all off. In 3-5 years, and my wife working full time again, I'm sure we'll start being able to save much much more. 34 now.

Fleeing, or "fleeing." The problem with taxing the super rich per state, is they can claim residence in a house they own in Florida, or Texas, or Montana etc. How do you prove them fraudulent? Maybe the IRS has a way, but I bet it is challenging. Nobody here is on board with a 98% tax on the rich. That is way out of the realm of reality. I'd be ok with 55%, maybe 60% on income over 5 million. You have to start the negotiation somewhere, until a bill is put forward who really cares what the proposed number is?

That is a strawman argument. The top earners aren't going to leave.... because their taxes will go up even more at every first World country. They are not leaving. And if they do, it will open the door to someone else to earn a lot more money. The top 1% are replaceable. I refuse to believe they are better or more talented simply because they make more money. Some are and would be missed in our economy, but I'd wager most are not that valuable to the grand scheme of things outside of tax revenue. Somebody is always ready and waiting to step up.

I think the drama would have ended had the full report been released. Now, we know there was evidence of collusion, but not enough to convict. The question is how much evidence was there. We also know he likely obstructed justice, but the case isn't being pursued. Republicans could easily end these shenanigans by agreeing to release the report. I'm afraid, until that happens this will continue.

Anybody else catch wind of the rumblings from Mueller's camp about the Barr summary? Conservatives were so quick to claim victory and vindication, if the full report comes out and is much more damaging to Trump than let on.... Needless to say, the drama isn't over.

I disagree. I think there were plenty of Bernie supporters that stayed home or flipped to Trump, not the other way around. Clinton has had too much time in the spotlight.

The polls weren't out of line with the results. They all have a margin of error. Trump had a much better chance than the talking heads were giving him credit for. My point about the polls, is I don't think Biden polling the highest now means anything. He is, or should be, the most well known candidate. The public hasn't gotten to know many of the others. If he enters the race and is still in the lead in 6 months that is a different story. I doubt he will be. Too many skeletons. Too many years in Washington. It is obvious to me the people don't want people like him and Clinton running our country. I think he should stay out of the race and help shape policy and campaign in the neglected red states.

Biden will not make out of the primary. No way. The polls are wrong. Way better options. Democrats are much better off with Pete, Harris, Klobs', Beto, Warren. I'm very much against regurgitated candidates that didn't win.

You probably nailed it. A few of my ultra right wing friends have been going bonkers over this case. This is so far below what our president should be concerning himself with or commenting on. the media is giving it far too much attention.

I don't think obstruction is as complicated as conspiracy or treason. If any part of the Trump investigation was going to hold water in court, obstruction had the highest chances. Stone and Manafort not flipping was critical imo. I bet they get pardons, even with the state threatening Manafort.

That's probably a fair take. When they started rambling and carrying on I probably just changed the station or zoned out. My point about it is, I don't think it is a big enough deal to yell "see! They did it again! Fake news!" Not that ewen said that exactly... The investigation was an interesting topic that I'm sure viewers wanted to know about, and know what impeachment would look like. My experience was they stayed on rails for the most part.

I will defend CNN, because I listen to them while I drive... until I get tired of the panels saying the same things over and over. There are only so many ways to dissect some topics, and they wasted a lot of time because of the partisan taking heads. I much prefer when they don't do that. Not the same as calling for impeachment, which they avoided for the most part. That isn't the facts. There wasn't enough evidence to bring a case against Trump for collusion. That doesn't mean it didn't happen. Schiff is being extreme and should let it go... but let's see the full report and we can all make up our own minds about if there was collusion. We already have the facts psuedo posted, what else could we find out?

You know who talked about impeachment the most? Fox News. Know why? Because their viewers hated hearing about it. Didn't matter if it was a council member from the city of Seattle, or AOC... It was a way to vilify liberals, libtards, democrats, whatever you want to call them.... and keep the focus off Trump, off the facts, off the real investigation, and on something people can see as an enemy. CNN rarely talked about impeachment for the whole investigation... and when it was brought up, the journalists challenged it. Had there been a smoking gun, we would be taking openly about impeachment... or should be, but I doubt republicans would go through with it. There wasn't for conspiracy of treason, but there still might be for obstruction of justice. The obstruction case is actually what I most often heard CNN say has the most merit, and could be where impeachment comes from. The media wouldn't have discussed the Trump Russia collusion nearly as much had Trump acted like a normal innocent person and not constantly attacked the process. They had every right to ask why, but did waste a lot of time doing so. Steve Bannon was on Anderson Cooper tonight and they discussed some issues happening in China. I wish our news focused more on those types of topics rather than interpreting Trump tweets constantly. I mean, I think it is fine to bring it up, but don't have a while panel go back and forth for 10 minutes on some meaningless tweet. That is what I despise about CNN.
