  1. Over 150 posts before 1st pitch, is that some sort of record?
  2. Jim Joyce in the middle of a questionable call? Wow, you don't say.
  3. You could make a stop at the bank too.
  4. Looks like the heaviest of it should pass soon enough, might be some light rain later but they should be able to play through it once it starts.
  5. Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA
  6. First beer cracked for twins game? Go.
  7. Seems to be working today for me, anyway free is free.
  8. If you can dodge a rock you can dodge a ball
  9. Why are they playing "loser" in the background during the twins lineup intro
  10. ouch!! my hand got caught in the rope
  11. game time? or by the end of the game? Hope you're in line already.
  12. What I saw was for rain later in the afternoon, looks like the game should start but might be a delay during sometime.
  13. I have T-mobile and signed up for it but most of the time I tried to watch a game yesterday I got an error and the TV feed wouldn't come up. Not sure if its just a thing with my phone or what but I can still get the audio feed which is what I use it for most anyway.
  14. Do you think this will be the year the Twins trade Joe Mauer? Or move him back to catcher? If they do that it would open up 1st for Sano and then bring up Kepler. It seems so simple. If they do trade him do you think they could get Clayton Kershaw in return, they could always throw in Nolasco to sweeten the deal. Thoughts?
  15. Ha, Pelfrey picked as a bust candidate.
  16. Jason Marquis? Signed for 3 mil and then cut on May 28th that year
  17. The Yankees are considering moving Sabathia to the pen as a long reliever. He's owed 25 mil this year.
  18. I don't want to see Nolasco fail at all and I think he can still be serviceable. He's still got 2 yrs 25 mil left on his contract. It will probably take some sort of epic fail for the Twins to completely cut bait on him (hope it doesn't come to this) but what are some other big contracts that teams have just given up on? The Braves recently released Nick Swisher, he had 1 year left on his contract and still owed 15 mil. The Braves are paying 10 and the Indians are paying 5. What other examples can you come up with? I'm curious to see what's the biggest contract cut.
  19. Bold prediction: Bux will have a 4 hit game this year all on bunts.
  20. Good to see the Strib on top of all the breaking news.
  21. So, we'd rather see Duffy in the rotation with his 2 pitches so opposing batters can sit back on his curve and then crush his fastball so he can get pulled in the 4th inning and post a 7+ ERA? This would be better how?
  22. Watching him last year at the plate he looked so comfortable already and just seems like he knows what he's doing. I don't see Sano falling victim to a sophomore slump. Winning an MVP would be quite a feat especially with all the talent in the AL. It'll be a fun race to watch for sure. I don't think he'll win it this year but I'd say top 10 for sure.
  23. With the batting roster pretty much set what do you think the regular starting line up will look like? 1. Buxton CF 2. Dozier 2B 3. Mauer 1B 4. Sano RF 5. Plouffe 3B 6. Park DH 7. Escobar SS 8. Suzuki C 9. Rosairo LF Buxton has been leading off a lot in his ST games, not sure if they are really planning on using him here or if it was just to try to get him more ABs. He may not be leading off opening day but I think he'll be there soon enough. I considered Mauer 2nd, if that would be the case where would you see Dozier hitting? Sano cleanup seems like a no brainer although Plouffe has been there recently with Sano 3rd. Suzuki has been in the 8 spot all ST and I don't see any other place to put him unless his bat catches fire. Speed at the bottom with Rosario and flipping to Buxton at the top could be a lot of potential RBI for the guys following. What's your take?
  24. They weren't backed into a corner at all. The problem is, if you want to call it that, is that they have a lot of players that are major league ready or close to it and had to make some tough decisions, time will tell if they work out or not. I foresee the Twins being active in the trade market come deadline time there will be a lot of potential moves they can make that will be addition by subtraction while adding more prospects to the system.
  25. I think Nolasco ends up with the #5 spot, he didn't do much to make the decision a slam dunk or anything but it does seem like Duffy needs to work on something. It's not like there's any chance of losing him right now. Like Birdwatcher pointed out the rotation is fluid if Duffy pitches well in AAA he'll get his chance. How long of a leash will Nolasco have is a good question, I"m sure it won't be short enough for most people here. It'll take more than 2 or 3 bad starts to pull him. If the Twins do end up putting him in the pen they'er pretty much giving up on him at that point and then paying 12 mil for an ineffective long reliever. I'm guessing they'll do everything possible to avoid that.
