  1. DJ Hicks is going to be the sleeper prospect. .He batted .270 in 115 ab, with 7 2b and 4 HR. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=1B&sid=t576&t=p_pbp&pid=543306

  3. What would signing Chavez, Youkilis or any other experienced 3rd baseman mean ? Trevor Plouffe at 2nd base ? The mind boggles at the thought.
  4. We can pray that the Yanks will sign him to a 3 to 4 year deal. ROFL
  5. Tampa Bay, Detroit, Arizona, White Sox, St. Louis, Washington in the last 4 years. Do you think there may be another reason why we shouldn't give this guy a long term deal ?
  6. You must be Youking ! adding Youkilis means we are going to give up on Plouffe. That is not the way to make long term improvements to the Twins. What if Plouffe had not hurt his hand ? What kind of hitter would he be ? That is what the Twins must find out. You propose to spend a lot of money on an iffy proposition, without giving Plouffe the chance to prove his value. Are you related to Bill Smith ?

  10. Right! You guys want us to become Kansas City.
  11. Why release him? We have to pay him anyway. Work with him and hope he finds his mojo.
  12. Revere + Parmelee will probably be better than Span + Revere. However, trading Span is probably a bad idea. If a trade gets us a pitcher that will be an innings eater for 3 years + a couple "prospects with upside", then perhaps it would be a good trade, given the Twins need. However, it is far more likely that Span will improve in his prime years, and the pitchers will break down. The solution may be to not trade any of them and rotate them in and out of the lineup. http://twinsdaily.com/entry.php?1894-Fitting-7-players-into-6-positions
  13. I like a low scoring, pitching dual with the Twins winning in the 9th..
  14. I remember his clutch hits fondly. That is the only thing about him I think of fondly.
  15. After tonight's game, I am done with Florimon. If we have him as SS next year, the pitchers will be afraid that the ball will be hit at Florimon. The perfect IF = Florimon SS. Nishioka 2B. makes me want to vomit at the thought.
  16. How about a 50/50 chance to be competitive ?
  17. give him one more start, then sit him. Let Duensing get his final starts.
  18. I want to see if Plouffe gets back his stroke and plays his position. I want to see if Perkins can close 3 games in a row with style. I want to see Span and Revere make more impossible catches. I want to see Parmelee kill it. I want to see the Twins beat the Yankees. I want to see the Twins win the series against the Tigers. I want to see the Twins sweep the White Sox in their final series.
  19. This is what we have coming from New Britain (AA) and Fort Myers (A). Do they look like the next great hope for the Twins ? 5 BIG If's

IF Liriano had pitched like we know he can ... IF Baker had not been hurt and pitched like the Baker we know ... IF Pavano had not been hurt and was the innings eater he was in 2010 ... IF Blackburn had recovered his touch ... IF Slowey had been the pitcher we thought he was ... We would win the pennant this year and maybe even last year, Instead we have 5 minor league starting pitchers and only one came up though the Twins organization. (not counting De Vries) Gardenhire Anderson & Terry Ryan have done a great job keeping things interesting. Thanks to the Twins organization and don't listen to the boo birds.

  22. Don't ignore the Twins draft position. The Twins don't get top 10 draft picks, most years. If one of their prospects advances fast, it means many other teams passed on that player, for some reason. So the Twins have tried to compensate by taking Sano, Kepler, Hughes, Hendriks etc from outside the USA. Look at Gibson. Teams shied away from picking him because of fear of arm problems. Where did he spend 2012 ? on the DL.
  23. How about Doumit LF, Hammer CF and Parm RF ?? wouldn't that be fun on a windy sunny day.
  24. It doesn't look like any of them will go North with the team after Spring Training. However, we can look forward to seeing Hicks and Arcia next September and for years afterwards,
  25. I don't know if the schedule will be changed, but the Twins, KC and Cle should play Houston, Seattle, Boston, and Toronto 7 times each for the sake of competitiveness.
