  1. No. While I fear that he will never hit above .250 for a season, I just don't want to add him the the fantasy team of Morneau, Hunter, Cuddyer, Ortiz, Gomez, Loshe, Garza, Span, Ramos, ..... et al - (and I left out Revere on purpose). you fill in the rest. No No No No No.
  2. Young Kohl just got tired again fast. Third pick of 2014, Carlos Rodon, now in AAA, looks like he will be brought to the show in September for the White Sox, fast tracked like Sale in 2010. I wonder if he is tired?
  3. I'll bet every hitter wishes you could just throw out all the strikeouts and then calculate the stats. That was a brave thing for Arcia to say while playing for the Minnesota Twins.
  4. Why are minor league professional teams playing 7 inning games. High A is not little league. I can maybe understand it for double headers, but not ever for single games. And to be completely honest, I can't even see the point in double headers. This is professional baseball. Baseball is a 9 inning game.
  5. In all the baseball I have followed since 1961, I have never seen a farm system win a World Series.
  6. I like Miami's direction a lot better. And look how fast it happened. And they have Redmond instead of Gardenhire.
  7. Garvers's main nemesis may be that he was drafted in the 9th round instead of the 3rd. It is like the pundits (management) choosing the best college teams for the polls. They won't let you past the competition because they already picked you better, even if perhaps you become better, which might have meant, you were better to begin with and the pickers just didn't see it. His bat should take him past Turner. You aren't a finalist for the Johnny Bench award if you don't have a fine glove and throw. Turner is proof of that as well. Thanks for the article on the young men that should become the next Twins' catchers after the transition years of Suzuki. Pinto should be traded.
  8. So if the Twins don't bring Meyer up this year, what is to say they won't be motivated to not bring him up until july of 2015? The same playing time, super 2, arbitration, and control arguments fit every year. I guess Will Middlebrooks should be the Twins GM. Then it would happen.
  9. It wouldn't shock me either, if the Twins let Meyer finish out in Triple-A. But it would very much upset me. I hear all the reasons, and disagree. Tell me that Alex doesn't want to give it a shot, and I wouldn't believe it unless I heard him say it, and then I probably wouldn't believe it. Who cares if he taxes the bullpen now? Really? Anybody? Even the taxed bullpen would want to see Meyer and May pitch. 3 or 4 starts, immediately if not sooner? Don't all the other pitchers tax the bullpen? Aren't there bullpen moves that need to be made, and other pitchers to try in the pen, too, as the Twins settle into the cellar? It wouldn't shock me if the Twins don't do what everybody wants and needs to see sooner than later (it is already later) either. Unfortunately, I pretty much expect it and expect to be more upset.
  10. I would sure like it if a Twins' pitcher would go 91 pitches, 8 K's and only 2 hits, ....only one more out to get in the 6th... only 10 outs in the game... and leave the game with a runner on first and second and the score 4-0. I would like that every single game. His "relief" gave up his inherited runner's runs plus one. It could have been a line of 92-97 pitches with a 6 inning shutout and 9 Ks. I will take Meyer's line every game for our Twins. Every Game.
  11. As good as A.J. Achter was for the first half of the season, he is been totally not that recently. How does a pitcher go 1.1 innings with 3 hits and 2 walks and no runs score? That was Deolis Guerra's line...... What a game in Louisville for the Redwings.
  12. Schafer, Shafer, Schaefer, Schaffer, Schaeffer, Shaffer........... it is starting already. At least he isn't another Pressly, or Presley, or ............
  13. It would have been just the Twins' luck if one of the splinters flew into his eye, but we dodged that bullet! That was an impressive snap, as bat snaps over the knee go.
  14. Coming to the site today was like going to the gorcery store you always go to and some manager from the home office had come in and made the staff move everything around. Nothing tasted different, it wasn't better, it just looked different and you just had to wander around more to find what you want. I hope it was fun. I am sure I will get used to it, but is just seems more cumbersome right now, with a different look and more white. I see there is 4 game threads on the home page right now. It probably takes more space, but I really liked how the MLB site keeps the "gameday classic" so after change upon change, you can always use the one that never needed changed anyway. Hey......... thanks for the site, and I hope all the work was worth it to you.
  15. The last two Correia outings........... what a time to not create value.
  16. Kirby Puckett definitely gets a pass in Twinslore. That is very apparent. All of this is very sad. The Puckett story was sad, too. It is apparent that Twins' fans just don't want to think about Puckett in a negative way. I am sure there is more to both stories than any of us will ever know. I hope all involved find their way to help, love, forgiveness, and understanding.
  17. I trust what Middlebrooks said way more than the Twins front office at this point in history. His arrival is way overdue.
  18. I like watching Pino throw those 86-87 MPH fastballs, myself. What's not to like?
  19. I hope Kohl Stewart's shoulder soreness isn't like Pelfrey's............
  20. The team will not be really moving forward until the Ryan/Gardenhire era is ended, and replaced with new blood, from outside the organization. It really is just that simple.
  21. Thanks for the continued updates. Just why is Virgil Vasquez, at 32, still taking up a spot in AA New Britain? AA! Couldn't this spot be better filled by someone with a future? Is there a reason for this that makes this reasonable?

    Garver hits 3 Homers!

suzuki transitions to garver in 2016......... trade pinto.
  23. Buxton was hit on "that" wrist and stayed in the 17 inning game, but has not played since. Isn't this a story? Why? Is he OK? edit: found some info here http://www.twinsdaily.com/entry.php/5501-Buxton-Out-for-Second-Straight-Game Nothing even on the miracle site. Weird.
  24. Deduno, when starting, got Pinto behind the plate. Anderson coached him to not be himself and the fastball movement disappeared. I don't think they want anybody to fail, they just fail at knowing how to handle individuals and help them be the best them that they can be.
  25. Hicks is up to .297 now (13/35 .371 in the last 10 games)....... perhaps he goes to Rochester when Buxton goes to New Britain.
