  1. Trade him for Crawford! Crawford can be a pain but at least he can still play a little and we need a leftfielder!
  2. As long as Terry is the GM, Gardy is the manager. Molitor is gone to "spend more time with his family". Steiny gets the D-Back job. Ullger or Vavra may get the gate but not Andy, imo. They'll fail to bring in a Latin Am coach. When asked, "the right guy wasn't out there".
  3. A crazy idea is to trade with the Jays for Bautista and Buehrle, the Jays clearing a lot of salary. We send Plouffe and HIcks plus at least one prospect depending about how much money comes back. Of course we can also throw in Duensing and Butera. Craziest trade I can come up with this early on a Monday.
  4. So we draft 6th.Tie with Astros goes to them and they get the extra pick (2) for screwing up this years draft. My guess is there will be 5 blue chip guys.
  5. Time to thank Brian for his thoughts and making the last few years a lot less worse than they really where. Brian you have been lipstick on the pig! Thanks to you too ChiTown!
  6. So Pinto was listening to Dick and Bert, not knowing better, and got a tummy ache? He's young he'll learn to use the mute button.
  7. Ok I have to get this out of my system, I'm sick and F-ing tired of hearing about Derek F-ing Jeter! Sorry I blew up, no not really. Prediction, Steiny will be the new manager of the D-Backs.
  8. Having a hard time visualizing Igor in a dress.
  9. For some reason the thought of Brian's brain brings Igor from Young Frankenstein to mind.
  10. You miss the point the guy is making 8 million bucks he doesn't have to stand in line for free cheese or use food stamps. Sure its better for him to have it instead of the Pohlads but I think he'll be ok.
  11. Really 8 million for a 8 months of playing baseball isn't enough get him that bonus! How is he going to help feed all of Sprewell's kids?
  12. Gardy is quoted in Trade Rumor as saying this: "Why wouldn't you want to be here? This is as good as it gets." Lost more than 90 games 4 years in a row and this is as good as it gets. If its the players Gardy should be as mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it any more. That is the real problem imo they have gotten used to losing and now just accept it and its as good as it gets.
  13. Just taking up space so it gets to page 3.
  14. Mackey said: "The accountability lies somewhere." So where? Everyone keeps their jobs? Maybe a scapegoat or two but nearly everyone will keep the nice pay checks coming. We'll hear all the excuses, like the last couple falls, as to why it's really no ones fault. My guess is that Molitor will not come back and maybe one of but not both Ullger or Vavra will be gone and Andy stays.
  15. Old man river you under estimate, it ain't easy being bad.
  16. Really Jim Perry wins the Cy Young (1970) and he doesn't make the list?
  17. I'd make the Nolasco for Crawford trade.
  18. Trade him to the Pirates and he'd win the Cy Young next year. Not really sure what they could trade him for or what GM would take that chance. He's been a mediocre pitcher at best over his career, until this year, so what would be the upside to trade for him? At best he is ok or we're stuck with this bad contract if he stinks for the next 3 years. Maybe a GM looking to get fired might do a trade.
  19. Dick and Bert are making the case for bringing back Gardy. Guess the case is closed.
  20. This team is run by the PR Department so they'll do whatever they think will sell. Making money is what they worry about and winning games only comes after making money.
  21. Hughes has been an even year pitcher. The key will be does he repeat this year next year or stink in the odd year like his record has been. Of course it may just be Andy working his magic!
  22. I get weary and so sick of tryin' I'm tired of livin and afraid or dyin' But Old Man River, he just keeps rollin' Old Man River, he just keeps rollin' long! Happy birthday Brian!
  23. It would be nice for TD to create a year end re-cap of Riverbrianisms from the year. I think a 162 page history of the season would immortalize the wonders we have witnessed.
  24. Actually Gardy made a statement like this the last couple years trying, imo, to say the team hasn't given up on him. That's fine he wants to keep his job, which is understandable he gets paid very well. This will be the third year in a row I've asked this question: How many more years of 90+ losses will it take for before there needs to be a change?
