  1. Trying hard to think of something Paul did that I thought there you go he has it. It seemed like this lineup makeup often left me sratching my head. He overworked the bullpen and it showed. He really lost me this year when he finally showed some emotion on the day they were eliminated. If last year was his best 85 wins is not a great year by most standards. When you play in the Central with some really bad teams this team has to be better. Now will the next guy be better? Only if they get some better players because this group is mediocre at best and that, at least, wasn't Paul's fault.
  2. They have infielders but they need good ones not the junk they have unless you want another losing record.
  3. Seems like most people just want to keep the band together and hope for the best.
  4. I'd look in to Moustakas to play 3B for a couple years. Sano/Kepler/Austin/Garver can take turns at 1B/DH. Sano can play 3B when they face LH pitcher that Mous has trouble with.
  5. Hildy is a borderline ML pitcher I don't get why he is being put in this situation. His overall numbers are not very good. Any decent bullpen he'd be a mop up guy, imo.
  6. 215-262 over the last three years and 71-82 this year is hardy average, imo.
  7. Fun fact: The Tampa Bay Rays now have a better record than the Central winning Indians... Another fact: The Twins need better players!!
  8. Trade for an ace easy, most teams that have one can't wait to trade them away....
  9. Now suddenly the day they are officially eliminated he finally shows some emotion?
  10. I really hope they can find somebody or body's that will improve this group. Guessing the trade option is the best route, not sure if the Marlins have anymore outfielders to give away. Cutch might be a FA option, he still hits ok likely better than Kepler, Cave and Grossman. He for sure is a better fielder than Grossman and probably Cave as well, plus a RH bat.
  11. Nobody watches a game to see the owner sit in his private box. The players are the game so I don't get people complaining about them getting paid. It's a very small percentage of players that do get PAID well. It's very difficult to be a major league player and even harder to be a very good one. The people that own teams don't need more money, to most it's a hobby. I hope I never complain about players getting paid.
  12. Probably time for a new younger manager. I'm not sure Mollie is a bad manager but I don't think he's a good one. His results have been bad and /or just barely mediocre. When your best is mediocre it's time for a change.
  13. Is it time to start one of these on who could be the next manager IF (that's a big if) Molly is fired?
  14. Grossman? Why?
  15. Great player once not now. Does a FO that is trying to build a strong playoff contending team really need a 36 yr old part time replacement level 1B/DH?
  16. @AaronGleeman Aug 31 Jorge Polanco has started 176 games at shortstop since the beginning of last season and @BaseballPro rates him as -14 runs. And that was before tonight.
  17. Move Polanco to 2B and sign or trade for a good defensive SS this winter.
