    Orlando Cabrara would be my pick and make him the infield coach, move over Vavra.

    Gardy is the right man for the job because he has it. The Twins organization is a lot like Augusta National Golf Club. Ultra conservative, extremely slow to make any change and usually only after kicking and screaming before they do. It's an old school country club where everyone pats each other on the back has a few drinks some food and they tell stories of great times past. It's also very vanilla. Baseball has moved on to technicolor and even some clubs to HD. This club has very little diversity organization wide and that is a problem when so many of the players are non-white. They had one black coach they fired him. They added a Texas born and raised coach that speaks spanish to solve that problem. The season ending 25 man roster had no black players and 4 latin players. How can that be? This team has to come into modern times. They need to accept technology, they need to diversify and integrate into the organization change, not token change but real change. That means going outside the country club and bringing in new innovative people with diverse backgrounds and ideas. Does anyone see change going forward with Gardy and Ryan in charge? If you don’t accept change how do you get better? We all like that old chair that is so comfortable even when it starts falling apart but at some point its time to start new.

    If there is no question of the effort and how much they care the only anwser is that some where there is a lot of incompetence. Otherwise why did we lose 99, 96 and 96 games?

    Everyone staying, no reason to change what has been working so well. There will be hope of contending in a couple years. Free agents don't work we'll hear, stay the course. Not going to spend money just to spend money they'll say. Never a mention of trying to build a world series type team will be made. I've been a fan since 1961 and I must say this is the lowest I've ever been about this club.

    "... they lost 90+ games for their 3rd consecutive year in 2013." This should say lost 96+ games, 90 is to kind for what we've had to watch!

    Boys and girl have a nice off season it's been fun when not in my corner. Have a b-day party to go to for my granddaughter and her 5 day old baby sister.

    IMO Gardy really needs to take a year off, do some TV work and get himself in better shape. His brother died of a heart a few years ago and Gardy is working on his own. Recharge his batteries, in better shape he'll have more energy and have no problem getting another job.

    Best to let Yogi explain another season like the last : Think about we could lose 96 games again and we went 9-1 against the Brewers and Astros. IMO we are in worse shape after this year than we were after last. More question marks and more players showing they don't belong. Sorry that was kind of serious. I'll go back in my corner now!

    It seems like TR is saying there is no need for change. Bring back Gardy, bring back Pelf, switch Duening to the rotation and we're good to go again. I'm not sure how you sell that to the ticket buyers.

    He certainly has had a lot more face time with the media the last few months. If he is being given a greater role in the org. who knows, none of us anyway. Some of the things he said don't really match up well with what Ryan has said. I don't know if that means anything but usually they are all on the same talking points.

    Mike I think society in general is getting to touchy. It's happening on this blog for some reason. Maybe I'm missing the bad stuff but I've never really sensed a lot of nasty stuff here. We saw it a few years back when Howard started deleting comments at the Strib. It was common to have 200 comments during a game and now maybe 10. If I was in charge, which I am not, I'd do the George Carlin words you can't say on the radio and let people ignore whatever else they don't like. The baseball unwritten rule stuff is really getting old. A guy walks slow after a homerun, allows you to throw a baseball at his head? You throw a rock at somebody and you'll go to jail. You throw a baseball at them it's standing up for your teammates. Seems silly to me.

    IMO its more that he doesn't have the stuff to survive against better hitting teams. Did you visit Olivia today?
