  1. Damnit! I was too busy looking up stats and missed Sano's HR. Was it a bomb like usual? What part of the field?
  2. I love the way you can search on baseball-reference, I could spend far too much time looking through random stats and situations.
  3. Sano has 1. Plouffe 2, Dozier 2, Mauer 1, Hunter 1, Rosario 1
  4. I'll keep going. The Twins lead the MLB in 0-2 RBI, BY A LOT. They have 44 RBI on an 0-2 count, the next closest team is the Giants with 33. Trevor Plouffe is 2nd in the MLB with 0-2 RBI with 11. The Dodgers are last and as a team have 13 0-2 RBI.
  5. I suppose it does. Before I looked it up I would have assumed the Twins had given up a lot more than that. Interestingly enough in those 8, 0-2 HR the Twins have hit, there has been: 1 Grand Slam 3 3-R HR 2 2-R HR 1 Solo HR When the Twins hit 0-2 HR, they take advantage.
  6. Let's see.....all RBI on an 0-2 count: there have been 18 times where an RBI has happened on an 0-2 count. This resulted in 22 runs total. 2 Home Runs 9 singles 4 doubles 2 sac fly 1 HBP Those 22 runs would rank the Twins tied for 13th. Washington would be 1st, giving up 15 runs on 0-2, while Detroit is dead last giving up 35 runs on 0-2. Cleveland leads all teams by giving up 9, 0-2 count HR this season. Who has hit the most 0-2 HR this season? You guessed it, your Minnesota Twins with 8.
  7. According to a little study at baseball-reference.com, it's only the 2nd 0-2 HR off of Twin's pitching all season. The other was Victor Martinez off of Hughes. Study here
  8. 0-2 count....are you #%&king kidding me!!
  9. Hicks isn't going to have a choice. If Buxton and Hicks are on the same team in the same outfield, Buxton will be in Center.
  10. If we are moving Plouffe off of 3B, I would have to assume he has more value to the Twins in a trade rather than moving him to a crowded OF situation, especially with a long contract looming or more than likely 6+M in arbitration or a 1 year deal.
  11. Nothing not to like about this, and I agree with minimal moves, especially going with youth. Millone and Nolasco will still be around as well.
  12. I remember a lot of people ripping the Buxton selection of being a toolsy HS outfielder when the Twins lacked starting pitching in their system.
  13. Firing the scouting department doesn't answer the question what TR was going to do to put together something for 2013. There were a slew of bad options.
  14. Great. How does that help with 2013 and on?
  15. It was result of a poor stretch of drafting over a 5-6 year period. If you are TR heading into 2013 with a severe lack of talent on the big league club and severe lack of talent in the high minor leagues, what do you do?
  16. Adam Dunn walked 16% of the time during his major league career, or twice what ABW has done in his minor league career. That's huge.
  17. How many teams have zero gaps and continually are winning championships?
  18. Or you could just not group together "elite prospects" and assume they mature all at the same pace. How many elite prospects missed all of 2014? How many other elite prospects didn't play AAA ball? How many other elite prospects have played less than a half season above A ball and are playing right now?
  19. I hate everything about this post. Do you really think the Twins players feel slapped in the face they didn't bring in players? I'm sure the ones that still have jobs don't. I am guessing a few veterans feel they could have used some reinforcements, but it's only the beginning of August. I'm sure guys, especially the young ones are quitting on the team because the front office didn't bring in players to help them make the playoffs. No one looking towards future money, playing time and a future quits on anything like this. These guys are professionals, competitive and want to win. Did the bats go through a little slump the last 10 games or so? Sure. Are they quitting? Please. You really hope the attendance plummets huh? That's less money towards future teams. Do you hope they lose as well? I just don't get this line of thinking. Sorry I am ranting. /rant
  20. Is there any evidence or anything out there about changes they made with Burdi? I have heard it mentioned and blamed on the coaching staff, but haven't read anything they might have done. Obviously I haven't seen him pitch.
  21. Coming off an injury where he missed substantial time mixed with the fact that he was pretty lost with the bat the first time around, I see no reason to rush him back to the majors at this point.
  22. I wish Duffey luck and hopefully he pitches well, he has certainly earned with how he has pitched this year. It sucks that every Duffey thread is derailed by "Why not May or Berrios and/or front office incompetence!!" I would guess that Duffey gets 2-3 starts no matter what. One road start against arguably the best offense in baseball is a pretty damn short leash for your MLB debut.
  23. Palacios just sounds like a baseball name. Awesome to see of the recent draftees making the list as well!
  24. Considering the Jays have been about 10 games better since the Twins since June 1....
  25. Eddie has to learn to lay off pitches like that, that thing was damn near over his head
