  1. Has anyone associated with the organization come out and said they don't want to pitch Berrios out of the bullpen because of screwing up his future?
  2. The start in Cleveland where we were 1 hit by Kluber? None of the starters were bad in New York, the bullpen lost this team 2 out of 3 of those games. If the Twins end up 1 or 2 wins short this year, speculating that not starting Berrios is far down on the list of things to blame.
  3. I believe Florimon was DFA'd by the Pirates last week.
  4. People bring up the AJ trade because they traded an above average player who had value in order to start a younger talented player at that position. At the time AJ had made 1 AS game, and has made 2 now in his 18 year career. While catcher is indeed a valuable position, talent at 3B is also fairly shallow. At the time the Twins traded AJ, he accumulated 5.6 WAR over his last 2 seasons. At the moment Trevor Plouffe has accumulated 5.7 WAR over the last 2 seasons. The biggest difference is AJ was 26 and Trevor will be 29 this offseason, other than that it's not a bad comparison at all. I think the problem with hanging on to him past this offseason is that is probably his peak trade value, at least IMO. After that he either becomes a 2 month rental at the deadline, which more than likely will bring back less or they lose him to free agency.
  5. Ah, thanks. I should have said started the clock early instead of using a option.
  6. At this point with his innings building up I wouldn't call him up unless you could guarantee him at least 4 starts this month. IMO it would be dumb to burn an option to have him throw a handful of innings out of the pen, especially since the pen has been much better in the last month or so.
  7. There should always be a guy like Nunez on the roster who can play multiple position in case of this. If Sano goes down for significant time, you do your best to patch the holes. You could have said it when they traded AJ. If Mauer gets hurt, who is going to catch?
  8. I don't see what the 90 loss seasons have anything to do with trading Plouffe. They would be trading him for 3 reasons 1) they have a better everyday option 2) he has current value and 3) he is going to require an expensive multi-year deal soon. IF Sano is good enough to be your everyday 3B and either/or/platoon of Vargas/Arcia/Kepler/Mauer can put a respectable line at the DH slot......why are we NEEDING a MLB/AAA player? Unless you can get a young catcher everyone wants, why not take the prospects, especially if it's a decent return?
  9. I'm not too surprised. I would like to see the starting pitcher's ERA in the same time frame.
  10. If Sano had the qualified at bats he would be leading the MLB in ISO....and that was before today's game.
  11. MVP votes are probably pretty far fetched but I think is quickly creeping up on Correa and Lindor in the ROY race

  13. That was a fantastic play by Joe

  15. Oh come on Perk! Gotta get there!
  16. I think you are asking for trouble trying to be too cute with OF defense at this point with a 3 run lead
  17. Apologist or not, he is hitting better in close and late situations this year than not, and has been awesome with RISP this year. Mauer w/ RISP: .360/.473/.460 Can't hate on that.
  18. This is the Chicago defense I'm use to!
  19. I think your mistake is assuming since Hunter is hitting 5th that is somehow hitting better than he has for the past......2 months.
  20. I don't. Hunter has looked slow in the OF tonight as well, get him out of there.
  21. Sanononononononononononononononononononooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. How a futbol announcer would call that shot.
