  1. Finally succeeded in getting my son into the Twins! His birthday is coming up and he wants a Kepler jersey. Do those of you who buy these typically shell out for the top dollar ones like they sell at Target Field? Or is there a reputable cheaper option somewhere that doesn't look like a clear knock-off?
  2. I'm intrigued by Montana Governor Steve Bullock and was disappointed that he did not qualify for the debates.
  3. Yeah, the surveillance tape of the shooting clearly shows that it was not an attempted robbery. Ortiz is lucky to be alive.
  4. Well that wasn't very fun....Correct.

  6. 3 of us had Bart Starr for 15 points each. Current Standings 1. AlwaysInModeration - 71 points (F.Ali) 2. Musk21 - 56 points (B.Starr, T.Conway, J-M.Vincent) 3. biggentleben - 41 points (B.Starr, D.Day, M.Stottlemyre) 4. lecroy24fan - 23 points (M.Stottlemyre) 5. Carole Keller - 15 points (T.Conway) 5t. luke829 - 15 points (B.Starr)
  7. I remember asking the same question during those 13 games that Glenn Williams owned the hot corner in 2005.
  8. I missed the discussion....why Parker didn't come out to pitch the ninth? Because he pitched more than an inning last night?
  9. Thank God, guess we won? Gamecast is still 2-2 on Ohtani for me.
  10. Tim Conway, star on 'The Carol Burnett Show,' died at the age of 85. Hilarious guy. If you are unfamiliar, check out the sketch 'The Dentist.' Carole and I both had him for 15 pts. Current Standings 1. AlwaysInModeration - 71 points (F.Ali) 2. Musk21 - 41 points (T.Conway, J-M.Vincent) 3. biggentleben - 26 points (D.Day, M.Stottlemyre) 4. lecroy24fan - 23 points (M.Stottlemyre) 5. Carole Keller - 15 points (T.Conway)
  11. Screen legend Doris Day died at the age of 97. biggentleben with 3 points. Current Standings 1. AlwaysInModeration - 71 points (F.Ali) 2. Musk21 - 26 points (J-M.Vincent) 2t. biggentleben - 26 points (D.Day, M.Stottlemyre) 3. lecroy24fan - 23 points (M.Stottlemyre)
  12. Taking my son tonight, trying to get him more interested in Twins baseball... This weather isn't helping.
  13. 3 new polls out today...All showing a Biden bump. I know, WHO CAN TRUST POLLS AFTER '16?!. But what other barometer do we have? Quinnipiac - https://poll.qu.edu/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2617 Biden 38% Warren 12% Sanders 11% Buttigieg 10% Harris 8% O’Rourke 5% Booker 2% CNN - https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/30/politics/cnn-poll-2020-biden-announcement-bounce/index.html Biden 39% (+11% over last month) Sanders 15% (-4) Warren 8% (+1) Buttigieg 7% (+6) O’Rourke 6% (-7) Harris 5% (-7) Booker/Gabbard/Klobuchar 2% Morning Consult - https://morningconsult.com/2020-democratic-primary/ Biden 36% (+6 from last week) Sanders 22% (-2) Warren 9% (+2) Buttigieg 8% (-1) Harris 7% (-1) O’Rourke 5% (-1) Booker 3% (-1) Klobuchar 2% (—) Yang 2% (—)
  14. Boyz N The Hood director John Singleton died yesterday at the age of 51. Too soon.
  15. This is just an example of 1 person, but I am positive there are many others like him. I know a guy in Iowa, middle-class, very Catholic, usually a pretty staunch Republican. Hates Trump, wrote in John McCain in '16. Would definitely vote for Biden, but would consider Trump if Bernie was the nominee. He's scared off by the Socialist policies. Today it's the "allowing the Boston Bomber to vote" talking point. What's next? The fear tactics work on crucial swing voters. Yes, turnout will matter...In the midwest and rust belt.
  16. You mean like the 6+ Trump tweets over the past 10 days referring to 'Dirty Cops?'
  17. I think this is spot on. Would I prefer someone younger? Absolutely...But as cliched as it sounds, we need someone that can go toe-to-toe with Trump and get him out of office. That should be the main objective. Biden can do that. Like it or not, Bernie as the nominee would scare a lot of people and allow Trump to paint him as this 'Crazy Socialist Boogieman.' Any of the others? We'll have to see...I like some of them, but am yet to be convinced they can beat Trump.
  18. Waymo, formerly the Google project, announced yesterday that it was opening a plant in Detroit: https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/2019/04/23/waymo-self-driving-cars-detroit-jobs/3543494002/
  19. Actor Ken Kercheval, who played Cliff Barnes on ‘Dallas,’ dies at 83.
  20. I didn't watch the townhall last night, but one of the ideas that I've heard Mayor Pete talk about in interviews is a post-secondary 'Year of Service.' This isn't an original idea....But has some merit to it I think. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/04/17/pete-buttigieg-national-service-program-civil-service-military-community-2020-mandatory-americorps/3495306002/
  21. Philip Klein, editor of conservative rag Washington Examiner, is getting heavily ratioed on Twitter for this post: "Elizabeth Warren's plan to cancel student loan debt would be a slap in the face to all those who struggled to pay off their loans" Highlights from among the responses: - Passing seatbelt laws is a slap in the face to everyone who survived a car accident. - Cure cancer? Think of all those who died of the disease, don't they count? - Universal healthcare would not be fair to the millions of people who already died because they couldn't afford healthcare
  22. Trailer and title released! https://twitter.com/starwars/status/1116749912983707650
  23. Buttigieg jumps to 3rd in both IA and NH in latest polls. Think he could win a general election? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-04-11/buttigieg-sees-polling-jump-among-2020-democrats-in-early-states?utm_medium=social&utm_content=politics&utm_campaign=socialflow-organic&cmpid%3D=socialflow-twitter-politics&utm_source=twitter
  24. I don't think Hillary's main attribute was "electability." We were told she was the most qualified person even to run. That it was "her turn." Conveniently forgetting how polarizing, fair or unfair, she was. As for the Senate, it's going to be hard to flip 4 seats...Not to mention having to hold AL, NH, VA, and even MN. https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2018/politics/2020-senate/?utm_term=.4d15cd55a740
