  1. Sure. I'll pass it on to my wife. Maybe I'll be able to go check out Charlemagne's sword while she looks at shoes.
  2. Just put the game on (from Vienna tonight). I love this score.
  3. You would not believe the banner ads on this site right now. Something about "plastickej chirurgie." I don't speak Slovak but I think they just called me ugly.
  4. Greetings from Bratislava. (For real.) I'm just checking in but headed out for some good beer later. Win Twins.
  5. I agree that keeping May up is the most important thing right now. I get that you ride the hot hand with Pelfrey, but given his history, it's probably a mirage. May certainly has better upside. In fact, according to BR: Trevor May: ERA - 4.43 / FIP - 2.60 Mike Peflrey: ERA - 2.25 / FIP - 4.53 May's differential is 1.83 in the right direction. Pelfrey's differential is 2.23 in the wrong direction.
  6. Again, I get it. I even agree. I'm just sort of suggesting that if there are complaints about the front office, then perhaps they belong in the threads about the front office (that I don't read). If I want to discuss Hicks, I go to Hicks threads. That's about it.
  7. That's just crying over spilled milk though, isn't it? I get it. I accept that 2/3 of our outfield shouldn't be playing, and the other 1/3 is a defensive liability that we keep around for his bat. But we can't go get Rasmus. We traded Fuld for a starting pitcher, and 95% of the people on this board were thrilled at that trade (not to mention that a 148 OPS+ will absolutely not last). I guess I don't get the point of this post unless the point is to complain. But that's not why we're talking about whether to bring up Hicks or not. Is it?
  8. Meyer just struck out the side, with 4 Ks in 6 batters faced. Probably too early for any accolades, but this is fun to watch.
  9. I have no idea how it works either, just saying what I know. I'll second the call to have somebody with some expertise come in and school me.
  10. I was kind of expecting we'd be in last place at this point. Small victories.
  11. Hey! Arcia playing some D! Where'd that come from?
  12. Thompson kinda got bailed out by that unlikely double play. Still, can't complain about a couple of scoreless innings.
  13. House will only be gone until he makes a dramatic realization while trying to prank Wilson. He'll be back before the end of the episode. Wait, what are we watching?
  14. "Sorry, mom." "Now go stand in the dugout and think about what you've done." "Okay." http://extras.mnginteractive.com/live/media/site569/2013/0903/20130903__1-joe%20mauer%20dugout%20sad_300.jpg
  15. Six innings on one-run ball. Can't complain about that. Also, we haven't seen much of that from Twins pitchers in the last few years. I honestly hope that May grabs onto a rotation spot and doesn't let go.
  16. I'm not joining unless the Kool Aid is fruit punch flavored. They nearly got me last time with that grape bull****.
  17. I'm liking this changeup. If that's Neil Allen's doing, I think I'll keep him.
  18. Arcia going the other way on the shift. Not bad.
  19. Ever seen a guy in a tuxedo attempting to fiddle with the carburetors? http://i.imgur.com/jUqxRWb.jpg
  20. I drove it on our wedding day. It broke down.
  21. Happy birthday Stringer. Also, it seems weird to me that Mauer is younger than I. He's worth 9 figures. What am I doing with my life?
  22. My wife and I sat behind the Twins dugout one game and Plouffe tossed her a ball. I spent the next several innings making fun of how Plouffe was flirting with her. To be fair, she's pretty damn cute.
  23. Hey guys! One of the rare live games I'm able to watch. Good start to this inning...
  24. My understanding of last years Aiken fiasco wasn't that he was injured, it was that the Astros found out his UCL was smaller/weaker than normal and balked at paying him top pick money. Then when he actually tore his UCL there was some sense of vindication. I think the worry would be that if his UCL is naturally weaker than it should be, he may never come back from his surgery.
