  1. Really thorough article, Brandon. Thank you. It does look like the A's are the best fit. It also seems likely that it will be late in the off-season before he lands somewhere.
  2. Man, I hope not. Too much pretending already.
  3. Haha! That's a good one on me! I meant to write that Toronto is south of Minneapolis. Completely mis-wrote that! As for the other part... Seattle catchers keep their hands in their pockets? Isn't that dangerous?
  4. I had a vendor out of Toronto. Several of them kept referring to how cold it was in Canada. I finally explained to them that Minneapolis is south of Toronto. Someone there had to look it up before they believed me.
  5. It seems that no one mentions that Dozier's BABIP was only .280 last year. All that punch with a .280 BABIP? As the Dodgers have just spent 7.371 fortunes on resigning the gang from last year they will want to improve with someone who is relatively inexpensive. Enter Dozier. I expect Dozier to have a couple more really good seasons in him. This trade should happen. It could really benefit both teams.
  6. Don't quite understand the Santiago hate here. His numbers are better than Gibson's over the last 3 years. He had a bad August for the Twins followed by a good September.
  7. The new guys have to do something, and probably in their way of thinking, something big. The way to do that is to trade Dozier. This will show the team owners and fans that they intend to shake things up. After the last 6 seasons everyone should think that is an excellent idea. I see very little chance of Dozier not being traded. It is interesting that the Dodgers are the only team that has really even been hinted. People mention the Yankees, but they have to be hoping for a bounce-back from Starlin Castro, as this was the first year of a 7 year, $60 million contract. You don't just walk away from that because of one bad year. I expect them to trade Brian Dozier. I just hope they make it count.
  8. Not sure I agree with the part above in bold. FanGraphs has Danny Santana rated 306 of 323 players who batted 230 or more times. I also agree with Thrylos above when he points out that Buxton, Kepler and Rosario have not exactly cemented their spot in the order. IMHO Palka and Granite are not MLB ready. I agree that we have weaknesses. If an OF was received for Dozier or E. Santana that might be a good thing.
  9. Welcome LoDJohn! Canadians are pretty good folk, but if you are from upstate New York I'm sure you know better than to take spelling lessons from them. Don't be shy about letting us know what other sites you write for. Just out them in your Signature line. They are unobtrusive and appear with every comment you make.
  10. Take July & August out of the year and Boshers was amazing. He finished with a very strong September (13 games, surrendering only a .398 OPS). Probably would be a good addition to most bullpens.
  11. We have a star group? My invitation must have gotten lost in the mail...
  12. Well, since I'm practically alone out here I'll just start my own blog. Yorman Landa was killed in a car accident last night. Kind thoughts and wishes to his friends and family.
  13. Trump found it before DaveW did. EDIT: sorry, just seemed like a good line... really don't want to get political.
  14. Culberson is pretty well regarded. This is not like the Twins DFAing DanSan. Culberson was on the roster fortheir playoff run.
  15. And for you Dodger fans looking here for Dozier trade rumors, welcome to the esoteric pages of Twins Daily!
  16. Refreshing that page almost as often as this one.
  17. I think De Leon and Stewart sound good. Both have impressive SO/9 and WHIP numbers that look really good in AAA. Just do it.
  18. Brandon McCarthy has started 13 games in the last 2 years and pitched a total of 63 innings. Who would want to take on his remaining 2 years and $20 million? I was high on Kazmir a few years ago, but his WHIP the last 2 years is > 1.35. He appears to be a long shot to rebound and is owed $32 million over the next 2 years. If the Dodgers are waiting to trade one of those two they are in for a long wait.
  19. Interesting to note that Garver may wind up being envious of Turner. Good luck to both.
  20. That's a little misleading. I have 121 tabs open to this article.
  21. If two of De Leon/Bellinger/Alvarez are on the table it would indeed be awesome to get Stewart. I'd be happy with two of the top three, if that's all they can talk the Dodgers out of. It would be pretty sad if 2 of those 3 were offered and the Twin said, "No", and then nothing ever happens.
