    My best guess is Gardy did have one reason why he responded in that way, I would bet he's bombarded with off-camera questions on when this or that AAA guy is getting the call-up. This cuts that whole topic off at the quick. And it seems clear that this is one area where Gardy has zero say on personnel decisions and defaults to the party line, much like his comments in the wake of Nishioka being forced back into the lineup for the Nishi swan song tour.

    That doesn't sound very encouraging. If it's a high, inside ankle sprain (not sure that it is), this might take a while. I'd prefer a Kirk Gibson slugging gimp in the DH slot over Santana, though.

    Well, the sheer quantity of college RPs in the high rounds is new.

    Huh. How do you feel now that it's round 2-6? And as of right now, it's awful hard to see one real legitimate major league prospect currently in Cedar Rapids (Vielma? Garver?). Not getting anyone other than Gordon in the first 6 rounds is bound to leave an even bigger hole in the lower levels of the organization, unless, as Pseudo so correctly pointed out, we are about to see a huge influx of impact players from the international market.

    Agreed. Has anyone heard anything about how Lewin Diaz and Amaurys Minier are doing? Any whispers on Rusney Castillo and Daniel Carbonell?

    As I pointed out previously, a career 31% K-rate and 5.5% BB-rate leaves him on an island by himself. And his neighboring islander company are Cris Carter and Mark Reynolds.
