  1. Can I just be the first to say, that I hope you are as equally skeptical of Meyer and May?
  2. Maybe we keep Nunez long-term?.....as a post-season Yankee-killing specialist....
  3. May i suggest that cancer, TJ surgery and eye injuries probably shouldn't be used for sarcastic journalistic foils.
  4. Funny how the added element of truth makes things actually "funnnier"....
  5. I hope someone posts the TJ rate relative to the low-A ball pitchers throwing sliders and curves . I see a number guys just on this list who have already gone down to arm injuries.
  6. Now, that's funny...
  7. Again, Kirby Puckett.
  8. Gardy gets it. There's a risk of eye infection and getting injured from a thrown baseball, the good news I infer from this is that the cut is definitely superficial, no damage to the tear ducts or the eye itself. To obliquely criticize Gardy and Twins' management for their decision to withhold Santana in this case, by the likes of supposedly responsible Strib journalists, I find worse than the any of the worst of the typical rube Strib commenters.
  9. Having a family member almost lose a portion of his eyesight in one eye from an eyelid injury, chuckling was not my first reaction, or last. A full dose of "Aghast", at the insensitivity of the comment was more my first reaction, although totally expected from Reusse, but then the piling on, all in good fun, by the Twins beat writer, was a bit strange.
  10. This is the internet, and the beat writer was in on this, too. Very irresponsible. Twitter goes out worldwide, how many are capable of appreciating the context of such "humor", especially when you're talking about an injury that could potentially permanently affect a player's vision? Has everyone simply forgotten about Kirby and his literally overnight glaucoma revelation?
  11. Let's see, so far it's cost them Buxton and Santana, anyone else I've left out?
  12. I get sarcastic, but the bigger point is that Reusse and his minions are on a reckless and relentless campaign against something they don't like going on with the Twins. They shouldn't be using the repertorial tools and then blurring the line between clown posting and reporting (especially with the Twins beat writer in on the gimmick).
  13. +1 Give the Twins full credit here for looking out for the health and long-term prospects for a high 1st round draft pick. We've discussed this issue before. The guy is picking up baseball as a second sports option....raw as heck- in terms of being a "pitcher"....limiting the breaking stuff until much later will limit the chance for injury- giving Stewart a chance to move up the ranks without health issues, so perhaps he ends up with the Twins more quickly.
  14. Mike Berardino @MikeBerardino · 1m #mntwins are now 5-8 (13 total) on their challenges this year. Opponents are 4-4 (8 total)
  15. In related news...Agents and lawyers everywhere.....now looking for getting well-deserved raises for their managerial clients....
  16. Responsible news reporters have certain duties and ethical responsibilities, above the average rube, even on Twitter, right?
  17. Your eyelids are extremely important to good vision health. Gardy himself said that the cut extended across the entire eyelid. I wonder if Santana also sustained tear duct damage....hopefully it's just superficial damage. If Reusse and Neal are having some fun, and continuing their campaign of destruction on the Twins and their OF situation, that's just not cool.
  18. More injury bad luck for the Twins: http://twinsdaily.com/showthread.php/11748-Another-quot-CF-quot-goes-down-Danny-Santana-with-serious-complications?p=235212#post235212
  19. Wow. Can this be real?
  20. LaVelle E. Neal III @LaVelleNeal · 9m Dr. Andrews to perform eyelid replacement surgery RT @1500ESPN_Reusse: Danny Santana headed for 60-day w/ eyelid cut? @LaVelleNeal
  21. I didn't want to mention that I feared the worst, I had a family member who sustained a cut in the eyelid, the complications and challenges to full healing were tremendous. And he didn't play professional baseball.
  22. Follow Patrick Reusse‏@1500ESPN_Reusse Danny Santana headed for 60-day w/ eyelid cut? @LaVelleNeal
  23. Nice separation.
  24. And I'm not "defending" the reporting, it's clear the Strib is on a mission to prove a point, whatever that may be. But Gardy repeated the "story" verbatim in the post-game. Why? As I said previously, the tone made anyone who heard it automatically uncomfortable, it seemed unnecessarily derisive, like mocking a sick child after he wet the bed.
  25. Has Kubel been "squaring up better" and "getting the barrel of the bat on the ball", as well? (To be fair, Kubel has cut his K% to only 23% in the last 2 weeks over 31.7% on the season, and his BABIP over that span is an incredibly low .167, so maybe there's something to what they allege is happening.)
