  1. Thanks.............I pop in now and then. All fans with room for different views! GO TWINS!
  2. After the next three games with the monsters from NY, we might get to see what this battered Twins team is made of.  It would be fun if our manager would continue to toss is some small ball during the games. I will be rooting for our Twins! GO TWINS!

  3. You field Buxton. I'll field the other guys. No need for insults, even though it was pretty nicely delivered. I like data too. I also like being able to separate data from decision making at times. There is room for both in our world and on the field. Have a great day. GO TWINS!
  4. The Other Guys on the Team:

I am seriously getting irked and bored with the inflated views that Byron Buxton is the All Universe Player that will propel the Twins up. Oh, let's not forget his batting average is in free fall and though it will absolutely rise, he is not the news or star of the Twins.

We field a team of seemingly invisible players. Polanco, Urshela, Arraez, Garlick, Gordon, Ryan etc., etc., etc.

These are the guys that are winning the games for the Twins. These are the guys that make paltry salaries compared to our AUP. These are the guys that grind it out almost daily, until Professor Baldelli decides to make his frequent moves.

So this is my small little tribute to the real stars of the Twins 2022. The guys that really make this team special. GO TWINS!

  5. Good read. Always good to see different slants/views. Not sure I agree all the way, but who does? Twins fans are no different than those fans of their local teams. Not sure I feel the Twins need a big bat. We have guys that can be the big bat through most of the lineup when they get in the HR groove. But a big bat does not necessarily mean the HR. We have various clutch hitters capable of bringing in runs. Polanco, Sanchez, Correa, Buxton, Arraez and here and there Kepler chime in. The cool thing is the depth and re-emergence of small ball which gives us run support for our blooming pitching (who would have thought)! We need someone other than Perez, (who scares the heck out of me), and Joe Smith would be fun to see being given a try. The simple fact is we lost a great guy in T. Rogers. I think there is some truth to the relief thought. Arraez is interesting at first with the wonderful side of hitting everything thrown his way. He is a tru hitting machine! Sano should not enter into our picture and the Twins would be smart to see if someone wishes to give him a new home. So far the variety of starting pitching has managed well, but it is a quilt of sorts. Too bad Pineda is gone as he was an anchor type that always gave 5-7 innings and never got freaked out. I believe the Saints may have some help for us there or mid-season trades if we still are in the hunt. Fun thoughts all supporting our Twins team. GO TWINS!
  6. Nice compact audit of thoughts and impressions! Right now, the sub- .240 average does not classify the guy for all universe! Way too much all Buxton all the time. He's superb most of the time, He simply does not fit into the greats of the Twins at this time. Puckett, Carew, Killebrew, Hunter are examples of gamers. We have other guys on this team that grind it out almost daily with little notice. Polanco, Urshela, Arraez and even Jeffers and Sanchez seem to just play ball. We have a massive wealth at this time of possible above average ball players with Celestino looking very good as noted above along with Larnach, Lewis (in St. Paul), Ryan, Duran, the mystery man Kirilloff and many in AA and St. Paul. It makes watching the Twins fun again and wow, did we need a dose of that. Not a great fan of Professor Baldelli, but I am a massive Twins fan and watching this collection of ball players find ways to win or cling on to victory is fun to see. The meat and down and dirty parts of the season are still ahead of us which will reveal if this team can continue with wins and teamwork. Troy Kelley, a good short and concise read! GO TWINS!
  7. Wow.....glad to see the Twins win last night. But, I must admit that when Perez comes in I forget all about how much our manager bothers me and wonder when Perez will stop giving me the shivers!

He needs to read one of those books on how to simplify things.

  8. Jkeady12 is spot on. When I watch the Twins and we get to the eighth or ninth when we have the lead, it is similar to ice fishing with no hut, you are going to shake! jd
  9. Funny! The most Professor Baldelli has "spoken" in his time with the Twins! He actually didn't use analytics..... We need some humor from time to time. Well done. jd
