  1. Here's the link to the story, JC: http://metrosportsreport.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=21637:twins-kernels-eye-4-year-extension&catid=234:kernels-home&Itemid=429
  2. I don't care about their impact on ratings. I care about my tired ears.
  3. Honestly, 1 or 2 innings of Dick and anybody is about all I can take.
  4. I generally watch but somewhat dulsetorily and if I miss parts, so be it. Hard to keep the enthusiasm up. People try in the game threads but they are getting pretty half-hearted at times. And sometimes you can hear the crickets.
  5. He appears to be on the Red Wings roster now (albeit without a number): http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?t=t_ros&cid=534&stn=true&sid=t534 So assuming he's joining them in Louisville - or if not there, in Indianapolis. But yes, it has been weirdly under the radar.
  6. I've wondered about it. Nothing from Berardino or from the Strib. Assume this means he is joining the Wings in Louisville tonight? Cuz they go to Indianapolis from there with an off-day tomorrow. He didn't play on Sunday and I know he was interviewed on radio but I haven't heard the interview.
  7. Cory Provus ‏@CoryProvus · 9m FWIW...Aaron Hicks was transferred to AAA-Rochester yesterday. Rob Antony mentioned on Sunday's #insidetwins that he'll play all 3 OF spots. So I guess we'll see what he can do at AAA.
  8. Cory Provus ‏@CoryProvus · 9m FWIW...Aaron Hicks was transferred to AAA-Rochester yesterday. Rob Antony mentioned on Sunday's #insidetwins that he'll play all 3 OF spots. There was dearth of tweets about this. Apparently Mackey didn't even know: Phil Mackey ‏@PhilMackey · 12h And maybe I'm just being completely unreasonable, but Aaron Hicks is hitting .297/.404/.466 at AA. Shouldn't he try AAA again soon? He doesn't show up on the Red Wings roster yet.
  9. Thank you Parker. For anyone who hasn't read it, Parker wrote a great piece.
  10. While I'm impressed with Perkins, I'm also impressed that Bollinger wrote this article. And while others on the team may not take the stats as much to heart as Perkins, it's encouraging that some of his teammates look to him for explanations. I can only hope that Jack Goin is force feeding some of this to the coaching staff.
  11. This is very unfair. Yes, he lost all confidence at the major league level but still he managed to post a .338 OBP which is pretty much average/above average for this Twins team. He briefly gave up switch hitting -- searching for a way to improve his performance and probably taking advice from a number of quarters. That experiment didn't last long. Since he has been at New Britain, he has been switch hitting .297/.404/.468/.871 and I believe that someone commented elsewhere that there isn't a huge disparity between the left and right sides. His line over the last 10 games is .371/.465/.657/1.122. Those slugging and OPS numbers tell me that he is hitting with more confidence because there has been an uptick in his XBH. Now he needs the next challenge. The Twins need to move him to Rochester in the very near future -- while there are still some games on the Red Wing's schedule.
  12. Danny Santana ... a ray of hope in a murky sea.
  13. Gardenhire: “My preference is get (him) to Triple-A and see what happens there and see if he can dominate that with some veteran pitchers, some guys that spin the ball a little bit better than they do in Double-A. Get him to Triple-A and let’s see how he does there. Then you bring him up here. I think he still has to go there and prove that he can play there.” For me, the problem is that they aren't getting Hicks up to AAA. Hard to prove yourself if you aren't given the opportunity. Time is getting short. I really don't care one way or the other about the Schafer pick-up. I also think some of you are shortening the Buxton timeline far too much. I have to see him healthy and staying on the field before I can even make a guess about when he might be with the major league club.
  14. hawkiconk said he was going to Lake Okoboji for the week. I take it that means he is taking a sabbatical from TD this week.
  15. To be fixed by Tuesday night (from the Twins Grounds crew):
  16. And really, Hicks should be moving up to AAA so that would have made some sense.
  17. Guess you didn't send all the Nyquil my way.
  18. Wow, CB, you're older than I thought. Of course those were also the days of $ pitchers.
  19. I think your Nyquil put me to sleep.
  20. Thinking I haven't had Domino's in about 15 years or more. Guess their sales to me didn't drop off.
  21. There are slobs. There's always sunflower seeds everywhere.
  22. "Who'll stop the Rain?"
  23. Depends on if the Twins or the opponent are up to bat.
  24. Bases loaded. C'mon Cola.
