1. Why will he be a candidate for long-relief/mop up duty if he is in the pen? The Twins have plenty of guys available to handle that role.
2. Derek Jeters last 40 Games:

250 .306 .302 .609

Regression to the mean can be so beautiful at times
3. Wow, a few interesting trades today. Surprised Beachy was given up for so little. Though TJS is nothing to scoff at. Hopefully Kab makes the move, and soon we can merge the old thread, in all honesty I prob would have quit this league last year if I wasn't able to chat about it with you guys.
4. The Twins have played the majority of the season like complete dog **** and yet still find themselves only 8.5 games out of first place, leading up until the all star break we have 3 vs CHI, 4 vs KC, 4 @ DET, 3 @ Tex. If the Twins can win 9 or 10 of those 14 games (very doable) there is a decent chance they can go into the all-star break only down 5 games or so.
5. I really don't like this whole having Duensing as a starter experiment again, the guy most likely doesn't have a long term future as a starter in the majors as we have learned in the past and has actually been doing pretty damn well in his role this season... why change things suddenly? If we need an arm to throw out there to give us 5-6 IP and 4-5 ER a start why not just sign a Jamie Moyer to come in and pitch until he ends up being cut? Perkins was never a LOOGY and color me a bit skeptical for Robertson to jump into that spot suddenly, Duensing should be in that spot moving forward.
6. Nice win, hopefully they can keep up this momentum for a bit.
7. Tom Glavine? Future hall of famer Tom Glavine?
8. Well that sucked. Twins offense let Diamond down today big time.
9. Apparently he didn't feel "sore" until today. They just need to hurry up and DL him.
10. Yes, I imagine the Twins were playing against the bunt which means the SS needs to cover 2nd in case of a steal.
11. It's nice to see Diamond pitching well again after a a rough couple of starts.
12. That isn't a small lapse, that is crap you learn in little league. Gave away a sure out as the slow catcher would have been out by a mile.
13. 2nd and 3rd, nobody out with Morneau and Plouffe due up, very disappointing to only come away with 1 run.
14. Ramos > Good prospect > Decent Prospect
15. Mastroinanni hits like a pitcher, I have no issue with it.
16. Super, we lose the one guy who could have actually brought us back a decent prospect in a trade.
17. Why on earth is Mastrionni hitting 2nd?
18. If the Twins would have held onto Hardy and gave him the 6 mil arbitration he was owed, they would have minimized there risk quite a bit, instead they went out and overpaid for some mediorce imported player and are now on the hook for another season. Also if the Twins decided they didn't want to give Hardy a 3/22 mil type deal then they could have just traded him at the deadline last season and got back something 1000x better than Jim Hoey. Even coming off of his 2010 season at the very worst Hardy was an above average option at SS for any team. And as "bad" as he has been in 2012, he still is playing significantly better at SS than anyone in the Twins org. They completely mishandled the SS position as poorly as humanly possible last off-season.
19. Down 4-0, 2 runners on 2 outs and you let your RELIEF pitcher (who isn't even that great of a pitcher) hit. I like Gardy, but give me a break, its like he is content to just lose this one 6-0 as long as the precious bullpen isn't stretched to much.
20. Votto is not simply just another lefty, Votto is quite possibly the best hitter in the game currently and has a great eye/will not make a mistake. Many of those pitches were only missing by a tiny bit. Votto did what he did best: He took what the pitcher gave him and found a way to have a productive at bat.
21. Nice play Swarzak, you knucklehead.
