  1. Legends seating for the Legendary Shocker? Nice.
  2. Lol shrines, it's a piece of **** stadium that has housed a life long terrible team, now you goto the game and the bleachers are full of drunk obnoxious yuppies who know nothing of baseball and can barely stand up without passing out, or 400 lb Chicagoans who can't possibly fit in those tiny seats and their fat rolls bleed over into your seat and take up a solid 30% of that. The place is literally falling apart, old style beer is the worst, the bathrooms are an abomination where good holy Christian butt cheeks were never supposed to sit upon. The food sucks as well. The area is kinda cool tho, I will give you that.
  3. Bump....at this point I am even rethinking going to this slaughter
  4. Meh, just lock him up in a couple years.
  5. IIRC nobody was complaining when Span was CF, his last four seasons for the Twins... .699 OPS
  6. Mastro isn't going to take the job from Hicks, Mastro is and will continue to be a 4th OF (solid though) If the Twins didn't send Hicks down after his horrible start, they are going to most likely stick with him for the full season. Yeah, the Super 2 thing would suck, but it wouldn't be a huge deal if they avoid that with Buxton, Sano, Gibson, Arcia etc
  7. He wanted to come to Minnesota as he has family in the area, why wouldn't he want to stick around? Also, lets not pretend he is going to command 100 million....the Twins can afford what he will cost... I doubt he gets anything more than 2 years and 6-8 mil a year from ANYONE
  8. A little early to be writing Burton's obituary....10 bad innings doesn't erase the great nearly 1.5 years he has also given us....
  9. I don't like the idea of the twins giving away ANY international money. They have been doing pretty damn good in the international market. The orioles or anyone else isn't going to give up anything more than a third tier prospect for pelfrey (unless he turns some huge corner) If Pelf can come back somewhat "strong" id almost prefer the twins keep him around and try to sign him to a team friendly deal for 2014 (maybe a 2 year deal) this team needs arms.
  10. It's the first time he has seen such good breaking stuff, it's going to take time to adjust. The cool thing is even with his awful strike out rate he still has a .827 OPS and is showing some nice defense at the hot corner. I'm not overly worried, if we are at July 8th 2014 and he is still showing that "struggle" I might begin to worry a bit.he will be fine
  11. Using UZR for a guy like hicks is a terrible way to judge his defensive "skills" this year, much of the year he has been dealing with human statue brad Johnson....I mean Josh Willingham in LF and often times with Parmelee in RF (who while a bit of a surprise this year, isn't exactly a guy with a lot of range) Hicks will be fine defensively, the fact he has been having a .700 OPS after that start is encouraging, even more encouraging is his power seems to be coming around, add that with the speed and what should be a continued improvement in the BA and OBP categories and we could be looking at a guy who gives us nice defense, a .730-.760 OPS with 15 HR and 25 SB in the future. That is NOT a 4th OF, that is basically someone who falls between Span and Hunter in terms of "skills)
  12. Happy, the twins were priced out by a few of those guys (hunter, cuddyer, Nathan) and not sure any would be "worth" paying what was needed at the time. Crain and Gomez both had plenty of chances as twins, Gomez just turned it on at 26/27 sort of like Chris Davis, hard to predict. Ortiz hurts of course, but was and is? A product of roids, Hardy was a terrible mess up for sure!
  13. Yup, I heard they shut that down recently. Also color me unimpressed with Wrigley in general, what a dump.
  14. To be fair we have never seen what Terry Ryan can do with a legit and large FA budget.
  15. That and the 50+ million they have available to spend in free agency next year. (Even more if they trade Willingham)
  16. Yes, clearly we should have given Santana that 7 year contract he wanted, or that 90 million Torii wanted (when we had a cheaper replacement in house with Span) Or are you implying that if we would have kept Luis around that Hunter would have taken our 45 million dollar LESS offer than the Angels? Or Santana would have stuck around on a huge team discount as well? Give me a break.
  17. As someone who has experienced BOTH of those things in the past couple months, I can concur 100% that you are indeed correct.
  18. For the Mets: 2008: -9.6 UZR/150 2009: -12.5 UZR/150
  19. Also, I doubt Puck did that intentionally, but that reminded me of the awesome word filter back in the battle your tail off days of "Gold Glove Defense with a .300 average"
  20. Luis Castillo
  21. Say what you want about the Yankees, but prior to that 6 game skid they were playing pretty good ball (with the same crappy lineup/rotation they have had all year) It's no excuse for the Twins to lose, but its not like they are playing the Astros etc. They should have definitely won game 1 and should have been "in it" more in game 2.
  22. Yeah it was definitely that same weekend I believe, though not sure which night I went to the Frankie thing. I believe I met you around Wrigley that time with Nick as well. (Nick was basically harassing Brian Buscher that day haha)
  23. The Yankees are only a -157 favorite to win tonight. $157 to win $100? Could be the easiest money of all time!
  24. No, he could have simply taken a step in front of the plate. It was dirty, plain and simple. Doumit needs to learn how to freaking slide though.
