  1. Can we please stop bringing up Slowey period? It is apparent that Slowey was never a legit MLB pitcher. Also Bert is an announcer and forms his own opinions, he isn't some PR mouthpiece for the Twins. The Twins have rarely if ever "bashed" players when they leave, with anonymous players/org folks making those comments. I'm pretty sure Bert's "bashing" which is a laughable term, was due to several face to face encounters with Slowey.

  3. .788 ops > .571 ops
  4. Yes, because the Red Sox and Twins bring in the exact same amount of revenue each year, and the markets are pretty much the exact same.
  5. Correia is a no brainer regardless. The only other "close to no brainer" is Willingham, who also is one of the few guys on this team hitting the ball hard. I still don't think he brings back a huge haul regardless, and I wouldn't be 100% opposed to bringing him back on a one year deal next year to be a DH. Morales- I mean, I dunno what to do with him. He has struggled quite a bit, maybe its best to see if he can turn it around? I still maintain with Suzuki that we are best off extending him a couple years, he seems to like it here so the cost shouldn't be to awful even if Pinto becomes the starter and Kurt is a back up. I know people say "well trade him now and resign him during the off-season", but that is always easier said then done. Get the extension done now while we have exclusive rights to negioate with him. If he ends up hitting like he is the rest of the season then there will be a mini bidding war for him potentially in the off-season.
  6. Reported for personal attack
  7. Yeah, deadspin had a piece on it today. Sounds like the clubhouse hated him and ran him out of town. Meh, Boston is a sinking ship this year, which is hilarious.
  8. Twins will win tonight then take 2 out of 3 against the Rockies, this would put them at 6 games under .500 heading into the break. At that point, the Twins would have two weeks to get back in it or fall out, come the trade deadline I think if the Twins are 5+ games below .500 you need to go in 100% sell mode, if they are 3-4 games under .500 then you sell only a couple guys. Anything better and you stand pat or try to grab a bat or two.:s-ctf:
  9. Reported for foul language.
  10. I agree with your main point, however I think calling up Pino was the right thing. In four starts he has had: 2 very good ones. 1 very bad one. 1 medicore one. Hard to argue with the results TBH.
  11. I can't see that happening, nor do I prefer it. I would prefer they sign him to a 2 year extension (team option on year 3)
  12. I will be there. Look for me in my custom Minnesota Twins Mark DeRosa jersey.
  13. Ability to lift and transport items up to 55 lbs. The Twins still have that bag of balls we traded JJ Hardy for?
  14. I'd give Cuddyer a 1 year deal, have him compete with Plouffe etc for the last OF spot.
  15. Yes, Morneau absolutely needs to be in this all star game in some way.
  16. You heard it here first folks!
  17. I have a feeling the guys who are participating already know. The all star game is now a week away, I imagine they want guys to know before the very last second so they can coordinate players going, families etc
  18. At the end of the day it all gets the job done: which is making the twins slightly more tolerable to watch. Untappd is a great app.
  19. Just saw an ad on espn for the home run derby, it had dozier as one of the 10 or so players hitting a home run in it. Did espn and mlb tip their hand early before the announcement? Would be cool to see dozier in the derby, after missing out on the all star game it would be nice to see him be a part of the all star week in Minnesota.
  20. Awesome that Perkins gets to pitch in front of his home town and just as awesome that a guy like Suzuki gets a deserving nod, chances are he won't get another all star appearance so it's a cool story that he will get to soak this all in. Give that to me over a guy just "showing up and going through the motions" year after year. Lot of first time guys. Hopefully Morneau makes it as well, that standing ovation would be awesome and well deserved.
  21. Meh, I drink as much craft beer as they come. But at the ballpark on a hot day there is nothing wrong with having a few bud lights, though I wish they had a grain belt option! Not a big fan of drinking a few IPA's or the like in the hot sun, but different strokes for different folks.
  22. Finally a beta test I am actually looking forward to being a part in!
  23. I think it may have had to do somewhat with the weather and all of that as well, not that Minnesota isn't a great place, but it should be noted that most of these big name FA we signed (Parise+Suter, Vanek) more or less signed here because they had some ties to the area, Kesler I believe doesn't have any real ties to MSP? Additionally while the Wild are a definitely a contender, the Ducks for right or wrong are perceived to be closer since they did have the best record in the west last year.
