    Hicks

His at bats last night and so far today have all been great as well. So impressive to see him battle back from 0-2 counts to get a walk and a triple. Dude looks locked in and like the 5 tool player we were hoping for when we drafted him.
  2. Milone has been pitching really well. So his record Is not surprising to me
  3. His transformation has been amazing. I have no idea where this power came from! Just like Perkins who I was soured on for a while, he and dozier are now my two favorite players on the team.
  4. I like the Hughes signing and extension, guy has #2 pitcher type stuff IMO. Santana may be ok, but more projects to be closer to a 3/4 then a 1/2, as someone mentioned, it's a lot easier to find mid rotation guys in the org or trade for them etc What are the odds that Milone out performs Santana the next 3-4 years? Id say at this point it's at least 40% If you are going to spend in FA I would much rather go "big" on a potential ace, instead of a couple of mid rotation guys like Santana and Nolasco. At least they are spending money though, and it's not like these contracts will force them to lose any of their main core moving fwd
  5. Very sticky subject and I don't know enough about the bill to comment on it, at first glance it seems like some attempt at an "easy" fix to a serious and complicated problem, typically those don't go over too well.
  6. I give him all the credit for letting Suzuki and Santana hit there. That Santana at bat and the confidence shown in him could be a big moment in a young 23 year old players career.
  7. Nah, we were still in our seats I may bitch at times about my twins but I will always support them til the bitter or not so bitter end! 3-0 this week when seeing them live, I will take it!

    Wow!

Lot of heroes tonight: Santana with a huge base hit, hicks for an amazing at bat, dozier...obviously, and how about Graham, Orourke and May for keeping it scoreless after Santana left?
  9. Gotta be in the running now, no? Maybe not the current "leader" but he would get a top 3 vote from me.

    Wow!

Sort of like that Thome HR against the white sox....but possibly bigger?
  11. Holy &/&&:&&/&/&&/&/@/9 that happened?!?!???
  12. That. Just. Happened. What a win! Second most fun Twins game I have ever been to.
  13. It worked somehow, but why would you call a steal, down 4 with the tieing run on deck?
  14. Oh look! Hunter sucks again! First pitch pop outs to the INF again! Never change Torii, never change.
  15. Also, as a wing fantastic, I think you guys are being too hard on Buffalo Wild Wings. They make a pretty solid wing, especially the spicy garlic and hot.
  16. I flew 2,000 miles and drove another 500 for this crap!?!? I know Minnesota is liberal and all, but I am shocked they are allowed to show snuff films on a Friday evening at target field
  17. Would you be able to spend it better than TR on Santana and Nolasco?
  18. Santana sucks, hope this bum tests hot for steroids again ASAP
  19. I too would have brought may out for the 8th, if he looked solid bring him out for the 9th and 10th as well. At that point Perkins in the 11th and 12th (obviously all of these are "if needed") then roll the dice the rest of the game if need be. 2-2 game late is a perfect spot to bring in May since he is apparently the only guy who can go more than one inning in Molly's bullpen. Boyer should not be brought into "big" moments, but then again fien looked like garbage the other day as well. Go get Benoit ASAP!
  20. Pelf earned himself anoth start or two. He wasn't the reason the twins lost, that's for sure.
  21. I would too. Escobar is just a Util INF type, those are a dime a dozen. Yeah he hits kinda decently this year, but his glove isn't exactly excellent. You don't lose much with Nunez/Santana as your util guy vs Escobar anyways.
  22. Why would you use his numbers from 5 years ago instead of any of his last 4 seasons which might be, oh I dunno, a little more relevant.
  23. I don't mind the Suzuki bunt. Literally all Robinson has to do is hit the ball past the pitcher to score a run, but of course his worthless self strikes out on 3 pitches.
  24. Avian Flu > Shane Robinson
  25. I don't think it would cost that much. Non elite players don't cost that much. Most teams in the market are looking for a "closer" and are focused in on clippard and papelbon. The twins have a shut down closer and really just need that 8th inning guy. Additionally he is owed another 5.5 million (including option) which the twins can afford (same amount they saved on Santana) while other teams may not have as much payroll flexibility. Maybe a package with Pat Dean and Tonkin would get it done. That gives the Padres a little bit of upside with Dean who could be a solid back end guy (esp in petco) and a guy who has done well in AAA but may need a change of scenery. Both cost controlled and cheap. The twins meanwhile likely wouldn't miss either of them as they are pretty far done in a very very very deep minor league depth chart.
