  1. Pictured: Average Twins fan the last week. http://www.slate.com/content/dam/slate/articles/arts/culturebox/2014/08/140821_CBOX_MoeSuicide.jpg.CROP.promovar-mediumlarge.jpg
  2. Those two guys are secured and have jobs next year with the Twins, it's more about the ones that don't. Mauer/Perkins will be fine. It's much more concerning that Rosario and hicks have looked terrible after a real nice few weeks where they looked good.
  3. To put that in perspective, there are 59 pitchers (10 at bats or more) that have better batting averages this year then .103 Even worse, there are only 40 with worse batting averages. Which means the Twins as a team the last 5 games are hitting worse then your average starting pitcher. And Price is the only guy they have faced I believe who had an ERA less than 4.25
  4. Yeah its really maddening. They currently have 13 pitchers which is just so completely unnecessary for any team, especially one that is actually getting pretty solid pitching from their starters. (I can't remember the last time a SP didn't at least get the team into the 6th inning) it's not like we are asking the RP to pitch 5-7 innings every night. The bench is the most pathetic in baseball and on the typical night includes: 1. Nunez- No bat, no field. 2. Fyer- No bat whatsoever. 3. Robinson- No bat whatsoever. When your offense is struggling you need ONE option on the bench at least that you can count on from time to time, I don't give a damn that Vargas and Arcia are struggling call one up, at least to try to do something different/jump start the offense. Call up Kepler! Ortiz! Polanco! Someone!?!?!?
  5. I don't think Hunting is a sport, but I think its a hobby and I have no issue with it. I have never hunted (I want to) but have several friends and relatives who have hunted (mainly deer) I think big game hunting is just ridiculous from the top on down, but at least when it comes to deer/elk hunting there is a legit and real benefit that comes from deer hunting in a lot of areas, it controls the population which means: 1. Less deer starve. 2. Less deer get hit by cars/potentially kill humans. Also, venison is freaking delicious and one deer can feed someone for a very, very long time. Top of the food chain, baby! I compare deer hunting with fishing, I have no issues with it since you are actually eating the animal/enjoying it. IMO shooting a deer or catching a salmon is no different from going and eating a burger at a restaurant. I have no real issue with trapping as well, since it gets rid of a lot of varmints around areas and creates fur. Nobody should be shooting elephants or lions though, that's just stupid and retarded. Luring a tame lion with a dead carcass is not a "challenge" or "hunting" anyways, it's just stupid. At least deer hunting takes time, patience and a steady shot. And frankly, I don't care if that is hypocritical, most things in life aren't black and white anyways. I am all for conservation and the ethical treatment of animals etc but at the end of the day a lot of times I will still buy non organic meat and even eat Foie Gras, because its ****ing delicious.
  6. Also, I don't see it happening because TR inspires as much confidence as a soggy ham sandwich these days, but if I was GM/Owner/Anything I would do the following today around 2pm: 1. Send Sano, Mauer, Dozier, Plouffe, Perkins, Gibson, Santana, Hughes out to lunch. 2. Everyone else would be called into a team meeting, where it would be made crystal freaking clear that the next 50 games or whatever are going to decide whether or not everyone sitting in the meeting have a future with the Twins or not. The message should be very simple: If guys like Rosario, Hicks, Suzuki, Fien, Escobar, etc want a spot on the 2016 roster or in the cases of Pelf, Hunter a shot to be considered for another contract, they need to start putting up consistent results, if they don't it needs to be put across that the Twins will be aggressive in free agency bringing in permanent (2+ year) fixes to some of those positions (corner OF, SS, C, 4th OF, RP, SP) Of course, that will never happen since there is zero accountability from the top on down when it comes to the Minnesota Twins.
  7. Two of those runs were off wild pitches and one more was set up because of a wild pitch. I think like 2 or 3 others were off solo home runs. Pathetic is the right word.
  8. The easiest way to get Arcia or anyone else on the roster is to stop carrying 13 pitchers which is beyond overkill. Duensing isn't going to be back next year regardless and Rourke has stepped up as a LOOGY, so I don't see the hesitation in cutting bait. Boyer I would cut in a heartbeat as well, but I have a feeling TR views him as a cheap option for next year to. Nunez has no business being on this roster as well. He won't be on the team next year, he doesn't hit any more and doesn't field. Bring up Polanco and let him and Escobar share SS duties or call back up Santana to be the back up INF. Robinson shouldn't be on this roster either. Give Mauer an OF glove and start playing him in RF on the Hunter off days.
  9. 0 for their last 18 with the bases loaded by my count. 1 RBI. That isn't bad luck, that is just piss poor approaches to at bats. Then of course, once they fail to get in anyone with the bases loaded (or just one tonight) they go into a classic 15-18 retired in a row funk. Something has got to change
  10. Every Twins Opponet since the all star break: "Yeah, Moe, that team sure sucked last night. They just plain sucked. I've seen teams suck before but they were the suckiest bunch of sucks who ever sucked."
  11. i wonder if Obama could do an executive order to keep the Twins from coming back to America since they are a national disgrace these days?
  12. Ryan screwed up big time, but that's no excuse for this bull**** the players are putting out there night after night at this point.
  13. This offense is more boring then church
  14. didn't want to lose his helmet
  15. And to think, the twins could have had Nelson Cruz for almost the same AAV they are giving hunter. Apparently ryan only likes to give out multi year contracts to mediocre pitchers though.
  16. Why is Nunez on this team?
  17. Mauer was hitting very well his last 40 games, this last week he has been in a funk like the rest of the offense not named Sano
  18. Especially considering the kid is likely no where near Toronto...
  19. If they lose this game the season is in serious danger of going into a full tailspin. Do you make a big move (demote/cut a couple guys) or do you fire brunansky or Ryan etc? It's clear that the status quo at this point is not the answer. Something needs to be changed
  20. What is this win you speak of?
  21. The mets have Duda at 1st base who is one of the hottest current hitters in baseball,
  22. Bump.
  23. Screw this team, what a bunch of soft *******s, at least pretend to care about this game.
  24. Scene: Twins up 3-2, 8th inning, 2 runners on, zero outs and Kyle Gibson has run out of gas. Molitor: Neil, what do you have to take care of this awful situation? Allen: Trevor May or a Blaine Boyer..... Molitor: Blecch! Ew! Sheesh! I'll take a Blaine Boyer. May? In a close game? Blechh http://i.imgur.com/IppcIl9.jpg
