  1. Ran into a drunk and angry Delmon Young?
  2. Bill Smith was a lot of things, but naive was not one. I know a former Latin American scout for the Twins who said Bill Smith was very hands on and extremely knowledgable when it came to the international markets. He didn't "luck" into signing Sano, it was a great play and great strategy plain and simple.
  3. Honestly, Wrigley is a dump. There is nothing charming or good about that "stadium" Whether it's the disgusting bathrooms, terrible beer (old style is not a good beer), or the seats that are way too narrow for the average Cubs fan (280lbs+) it has got to go.
  4. AL won the All Star game! Of course it would be on the road.
  5. I wouldn't want them facing the Twins, not for nostalgic reasons, but for "I don't want to face Grienke and Kershaw for up to 5 games out of 7"Reasons.
  6. ok ok, wrigleyville burns to the ground and nothing is lost.
  7. He has been the Twins best SP the last few months IMO, other than a couple bad starts he has looked very very solid. Perhaps: Milone Duffey Gibson Could patch work their way to a decent playoff rotation if luck swings the right way.
  8. I would prefer a Twins vs Cubs World Series, with the Twins winning in 5 games off a walk off HR from Sano off Fernando Rodney in the bottom of the 12th inning. Chicago burns to the ground and nothing is lost
  9. I'm gonna do the smart thing and let it all ride on the Vikings to win the super bowl... Seriously though, I'm gonna bank the money and spend it on plane tickets/playoff tix if the Twins make it. (Though I would save on the plane tix if they get the wild card and play NYY for the WC game)
  10. Sano will be fine, he has been so fantastic this year that a couple hitless nights makes folks worry. It's just a (very) mini slump. Once he hits one 450 tomorrow everything will be all good again,
  11. 3 outs away from covering the Twins pre season total wins Vegas line over/under
  12. Nice to see them getting May "back on the horse" for better or worse he is our best 8th inning guy until Perkins comes back (hopefully)
  13. I don't recall seeing anyone wanting Milone off this roster.
  14. With Escobar nailing down the SS spot, only catcher remains as the one "must upgrade" spot for this lineup heading into 2016
  15. Need a sweep. 2 out of 3 at worst.
  16. I will never "roast" anyone for leaving in a starter with 8k's and 0ER allowed, especially with this questionable bullpen behind him.
  17. may shouldn't be the only "legit" guy in the pen. Jepsen is legit too but now is the de facto closer which means because it's MLB he isn't allowed to come in before the 9th inning and all that. The minute he throws 6 straight balls and gives up a run, he should have been pulled. But of course they have no one else worth while to bring in and he is left in to serve up a grand slam.
  18. it wasn't runners in scoring position it was just one runner in scoring position at the time. Duffey should have gotten the chance to finish the inning.
  19. also, Duffey shouldHave been given a chance to get out of the inning. The 3 runs given up in the 8th also didn't help matters, took a 2 run game and once again put it out of reach.
  20. no issue with May, but when he came out and couldn't throw a strike, he should have been pulled quickly, but because the Twins have him and Jepsen as the only two current "legit" relievers they had to keep him in the game and thus hung him out to dry. Also, May should still be a starter, but that is another topic for another thread etc
  21. Wow. This game got out of hand quickly. Hopefully they can sweep the royals this week.
  22. Should have left Duffey in. Instead we get another loss due to questionable managing and a terrible pen
