  1. At the Mets game currently. Man I wish we had a pitcher like Thor.... Re: Twins, somehow they are a pick em game in the eyes of Vegas today. Hopefully they can get an opening day win and at least give us a day or two of hope this season. Sano, Dozier and Buxton with bombs today. Twins Win 8-4
  2. 4 WAR Don't care how he gets there, but I think it's a break out year for him and he becomes a 4 WAR player this year before he eventually (hopefully) turns into a 5.5-7 WAR player
  3. lol! It wasn't the best month, but still is sitting a few bucks from $1100, also I bought some more when it dipped below $975 Still way up on this "investment" and it always seems to bounce back quickly after a rough day or week. (Not scientific at all I know! But hey, gotta roll with what has been working!) WWE has been doing decent for me lately, Nvidia has stabilized again a bit and somehow I am up 19% on WWE since I bought it, I think WWE is still on the way up, I think it can hit $30 within the next 12 months.
  4. Analytical or not, keeping Santana, a 6th INf and a 5th OF who can't play defense or hit well....at all, over Park is absolute madness.
  5. Personally, I am jealous of the Royals early season schedule.
  6. Duffey is that viable long man. If Hughes has a meltdown or two early on, just DL him and bring up Berrios. It's pretty silly in general to have TWO long man because of concerns with your starters. That is the larger issue at play here IMO, both the rotation and bullpen are disasters.
  7. If Haley is that valuable to this team, why not just figure out a trade for him. I highly doubt Boston is going to be asking for anything close to unreasonable. I'd much rather trade away a "meh" prospect, get Haley in the minors and use that 25th roster spot for either a guy like Park or something. I don't get this whole idea of needing two mop up guys anyways. The whole point of a mop up guy is it's more than likely he will be involved in a game where the Twins are getting their butts kicked anyways. Does it really matter if Haley or Duffey give up a few more runs over 3-4 innings when its already 6-1?
  8. I think Bud is doing their "team can" concept that they did with the NFL teams this year. I think it's genius.
  9. I'm just holding out hope for a mid season call up of some sushi or Korean BBQ offerings. Tony O's has had it's success here, but I hope we can trade those cuban sandwiches for some high upside Dominican fare.
  10. This is a great bit and a great article. I hope you stick around and become our Drew Magary. The Twins should actually be innovative and DROP beer prices depending on how many games they are .500 at the time. Every game under? 1% off your beer tab. Sure it's going to create a lot of loose change, but at least we can save a few bucks for when they are inevitably out of it by June. Also taking away Butcher and the Boar from the offering which is one of my current 5 favorite restaurants in the country (/adjusts monocle) is just pure madness. If anything they should have MORE of a presence. Take over that whole hideous and pointless beer garden section in left field.
  11. Yeah I hope the wings win 15-0 off of a strong berrios outing and 7 park HR
  12. Escobar is on the roster and can play any INF position (better than Santana actually) Dozier, Sano, and Polanco need to be playing every day anyways. You don't need TWO back up INF, especially when one is quite terrible at hitting and defense.
  13. Yup. Hicks is actually being able to provide value while JRM is just AAA back up type now. I hated the trade then and I hate it now. I'd much rather have hicks as our 4th OF now then Grossman (who can't play D) or freaking Santana!
  14. Matt Davidson was kept by the White Sox this off season. He is a high busy candidate for sure, but at least there is some upside there if he can suddenly "click. The Twins bring in Gimenez, give the DH spot to grossman and keep Danny santana on the roster. It's almost like the White Sox actually are committing to a rebuild, and the Twins like always are just treading water hoping for a miracle.
  15. True the Twins prefer their starters to be consistent.................ly terrible (see: Pelfrey)
  16. Angels think he can be a starter. I really don't get why we gave him up for no reason.
  17. Who knows: maybe McCleod would have pulled the trigger on the Dozier trade, and maybe he would have been able to move a couple more guys. One thing is certain; it would be damn hard of him to do much worse then what this new FO has done so far.
  18. If Asrianza was healthy, I imagine they would have just brought 12 pitchers north. The Twins are obsessed with Santana and his versatility. They view him as their nick punto version 2.0 Problem is Santana makes Punto look like A-Rod
  19. Gimenez over JRM, to me it makes zero sense. Can anyone defend this with a straight face?
  20. Bingo And for all the gushing about tonkin missing bats last year (with a poor ERA and everything else to boot) it seems odd that we wouldn't think the same thing about Meyer, a guy who has 9k/9in+ so far in his (limited) major league career but who can actually START as well. Even if meyer never makes it as a starter he would have been nice depth for this Twins team that (wait for it.....) has zero RP depth.
