Let Gray get some good innings in, and find a taker sooner than later for a trade.

I'd like to see Bruno's energy, as I understand he's shown it, as well as Gladden, on the big roster. They're guys who have accomplished things in the bigs. Maybe that would rub off on some of these guys. Also, Gladden could be the guy in the dugout/clubhouse to kick rears when needed. But then again, some of the players would probably be rubbed the wrong way. Jack Morris for pitching coach. Manager? Paul Molitor.

And CONGRATS on that first ML hit in the 8th Brian Dozier!

I've read he is solid defensively. Some think he's more suited to 2nd,but i've heard no negatives as a fielder.

Florimon's Roch debut was a 1-4 night with a stolen base. That's 8 steals between the 2 leagues in 9 tries.
  6. Mr. Ed
Debut tonight vs Meat Weaver. Gardy puts Dozier at SS, 2nd in the lineup. Nothing like a little pressure.

Fort Myers has 30 hits and 25 runs in the past 2 days. Won today (monday) 12-3. Anderson Hidalgo a Grand Slam and 6 RBIs in the game.

Is anyone really expecting him to the the SAVIOR? No. Contributor? Yes. You want a savior, look to the mega-million-man. 1 homer, average slumped under .300

Absolutely. And the Twins had better do more than ask for a closer who is coming off surgery. Please. They need pitching desperately. PJ Walters/Scott Diamond are not going to turn this around for MN. THey need REAL pitchers, not soft-tossing contact guys who allow so much traffic. Sadly, a lot of teams need pitching. And the Twins don't have a lot to offer, especially if they want to hang onto the young bats coming up.

Sure, let's play Carroll/Casilla at 3rd. Honestly this organization keeps going backward. Sure seems like there isn't a plan in place for changing the direction . "Reloading" didn't happen. They just are not very good. Tough schedule or not, I don't see this year ending well. Multiple changes are required throughout the org.

This is a lost year. IF he struggles early, he can go back to AAA whenever Morneau gets back to being ready to play. As LaVelle noted the Twins are now historically bad on offense. least # of hits over 4 games in modern MLB history. Dozier won't fix that by himself.
  12. Mr. Ed
Dozier called up with Morneau going to the DL. Good luck Brian!

I believe there is some truth to the comment I once told you about that a wise friend once told me, a comment about the changes in their scouting/drafting responsibilites. I have not read this comment from the past. Please share.

    Boer 8 hits/5 R/3ER 3BB/K in 5.2 A/fort myer innings in his Hi-A debut today(THURS)
  16. Mr. Ed
Scotty, please just put a link in, or paraphrase. The cops'll get you for directly pasting from Strib.
  17. Mr. Ed
This is correct. Northwoods is a wood-bat league for guys in college, that extends into Central Minnesota. http://www.northwoodsleague.com/

I also cannot see them getting a AAA franchise in MN/IA/WI too tough to draw crowds, unless they somehow unseat the Iowa Cubs. I would doubt that. Probably wind up in Syracuse or Buffalo. Bleh.
  19. Mr. Ed
Some may make it in under 4 hrs. I was checking that for future reference, maps I checked say 4hrs/36 minutes minimum. But would be nice to move there. I remember them being in the quad cities when they got flooded.
  20. Mr. Ed
Gray allowed 2 inherited runners in a NYY game to score, and allowed one to score in his last outing vs KC.
  21. Mr. Ed
    First month: .274 in 24 games.Just 6 runs scored, despite hitting in the top 2 spots. 6 doubles/HR/10RBI, 7BB/13K, 1-3 steals. .326 OBP, .381 SLG
  22. Mr. Ed
Was drawing Maddux comparisons. Too many of us bought into that. I know I did.
  23. Mr. Ed
Also doesn't help any that Thomas/Plouffe/Burroughs are contributing very little. Organization lack of high-level depth back in play again.
  24. Mr. Ed
Twins should lop off Thomas now and bring up Mastroianni. Can't do any worse than Thomas has been.
  25. Mr. Ed
Joe C has confirmed the promotion of Butera; no official corresponding move has been made.
