  1. I would wait till may with both, better to save some money and better for the player to get there work in the early going
  2. If Gardy wants him. he gets him. Managers have say and that's the way it should be like it or not.
  3. Plus the Twins got Clement on there roster. I would think he could catch in a pinch.
  4. There is a huge difference between a Sp pitching 150ip and one pitching 200 ip. If you got 5 sp in your rotation that can't pitch more than 150 ip, you are in a big world of hurt, no matter how many are waiting in the wings and it kills the pen too.
  5. Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports that the Red Sox and Mike Napoli have reached an agreement on a one-year, $5 million contract. Financial details are provided by CBS Sports' Jon Heyman. The Red Sox originally signed Napoli to a three-year, $39 million contract earlier in the offseason, but talks hit a snag after an issue with one of his hips was reportedly found during a pre-signing physical. The injury is not expected to keep him from being ready for Opening Day, so it's surprising that Napoli wasn't able to do better in free agency. He'll now look to re-establish his value on a new, one-year deal. If healthy, Napoli should remain a decent fantasy option throughout 2013 as Boston's everyday first baseman.
  6. Butera should get paid more than that for all the work he gets in.
  7. D- They haven't improve there team at all.

  9. Cubs president Theo Epstein said he expects Scott Baker (elbow) to be ready for Opening Day. Baker will be exactly 12 months removed from Tommy John surgery for the start of the season, so there's a chance he won't miss any time if he can avoid setbacks. More likely, the 31-year-old right-hander will begin the season on the disabled list to continue to build up his workload. Baker, who signed a one-year, $5.5 million contract with the Cubs in November, is expected to be up to 75 pitches by the end of spring training. Source: Chicago Tribune
  10. Saunders just doesn't have the upside I want in a pitcher.
  11. Hopefully he will be better, we need him bad, and this is his big chance.
  12. Devries, It's too bad the Twins won't sign a couple more pitchers, because I don't even see one of the starting five making it a full season.
  13. Why trade him if he is our best pitcher?
  14. It's a dart board. Yeah give them chances but can they handle it?
  15. It's not not Haren, It's Harden we got. Two completely different pitches.
  16. I still think Gardy can turn this team around.
  17. Try to get Mauer to play a little backup 3b or 2b and you would be pretty set. it's his team.
  18. SP is where it's at, I think we should spend there, we need a few more. MI adds doesn't really help us much, but it would be nice to add a good bat.
  19. I think Jack should be in. Viola, Doc, ect. probably should be in too, but they had there chance, it is Jacks turn now vote him in.
  20. Get over it, you still have to make improvements.Winning is the only answer for the Twins.
  21. FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that the Rangers, Padres and Pirates are showing interest in Shaun Marcum. The Indians, Royals and Twins have also expressed interest in the right-hander this offseason, but it's not clear whether they're still in on him. Marcum has posted a 3.62 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 85 starts across the last three seasons, but he had some elbow issues in 2012 and hasn't been a bastion of health during his career. Still, he just turned 31 and could wind up being a nice investment on a reasonable deal.
  22. Nick Blackburn is expected to be sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks after undergoing surgery on his right forearm last week. Blackburn had surgery on October 25 to remove a bone chip from his right elbow, but he continued having problems after the procedure, necessitating another operation. While it's possible he could make it back in time for Opening Day, it certainly doesn't help his chances of winning a roster spot. The odds were probably already not good after he posted a 7.39 ERA and 1.71 WHIP over 19 starts in 2012. Source: Minneapolis Star-Tribune
  23. 25 to 30 are good numbers, even the high 30's are in reach as the the older he get the better he gets, it's all about playing time.
  24. Who are the top free agents you want to over spend for next year? You must know, and I sure would like to know. Can you name the top 3 SP for me?
  25. According to Darren Wolfson of ESPN 1500, the Twins are interested in bringing aboard free agent right-hander Armando Galarraga on a minor league deal. Wolfson says the Twins have reached out to Galarraga and are waiting to hear back. The 30-year-old starter went 0-4 with a 6.75 ERA over five starts for the Astros in 2012, but he could compete for a spot at the back end of the Twins' season-opening rotation if he is signed.
