  1. None of the relievers were overworked tonight. Okert got four outs, but only 19 pitches.
  2. I'm still saying that Willi should be considered for an All-Star berth. No player is more versatile and he is putting up very good numbers.
  3. WP or PB? That scoring decision means an earned run (or not) for SWR. It looked like a PB to me.
  4. That's pretty much a given. I'm not sure if either Buxton or Lewis might get the day game after a night game off.
  5. They'll both be in the lineup vs. the lefty tomorrow. The big question is whether Martin will get a start as well.
  6. Lewis, Kepler and Vázquez are a combined 0-11 with six Ks. The other six are 11-17 with 2 Ks.
  7. I still don't think he's been sharp. The Snakes have hit some hard "at-em balls" and he's been behind on quite a few counts. I don't think he'll go more than six innings.
  8. The ERAs of the three pitchers Arizona has used today are: 5.69 (Nelson), 6.66 (McGough) and 9.49 (Hughes).
  9. I should ask, how many of you on this thread can't see the TV broadcast?
  10. That is a tough way to strike out! Correa did that about a week ago.
  11. Correa was below .300 for a minute (a day actually), but 3-3 puts him back at .307.
  12. SWR not sharp in the first inning, but got through the inning without being scored upon.
  13. The Brewers have selected Keuchel's contract and also placed Gary Sánchez on the IL. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/06/brewers-to-select-dallas-keuchel.html
  14. Not so much this month. With Miranda around to DH, he hasn't been DHing against RH pitching. It is an opportunity to play him more behind the plate (with less Vázquez), but so far Rocco has resisted that temptation and stuck with alternating the two catchers.
  15. The Twins have been great at waking up good players having bad years so far this year--Vladdy, Bregman, Arozarena are recent examples--it wouldn't surprise me to see Carroll go off against the Twins.
  16. There are pluses and minuses for any of the four pitchers possible for taking Paddack's place. Festa is a high-profile prospect, Varland has at least a half season's experience in the majors and had a good five-inning start and pretty good long-relief appearance on Father's Day. Boushley is on the 40-man and has been good and consistent at St. Paul and Dobnak is also experienced and is coming off two pretty good outings for the Saints. I think it will be Festa. He's gone well at St. Paul and it's probably time to see if he can get major league hitters out.
  17. Larnach played in the game Friday in Oakland. They faced two straight lefties and had complete control in the Saturday game. As a lesser defender, there wouldn't be much call to use him in either game.
