  1. Cool. Finding anything on Comcast's web site is no mean feat. And I'm about to switch my phone and Internet over to them. Scares the heck out of me.
  2. These guys will. http://msn.foxsports.com/watch/foxsports1?0426MLB
  3. Doctor Who Season 7 is on Netflix now. As is Sherlock season 3.
  4. It's Fox Sports 1 here in Mpls. Which I think is what they use for their national broadcast now.
  5. Depending where you wind up I'd probably come over and have a boilermaker with ya's.
  6. I'm not one of the ladies but I'll still say Arcia looks pretty badass in that pic. And if they had some tommy guns they could be doing a bank job in the 20's.
  7. Oh, sorry. I seem to have stumbled into Logan's Run by accident.
  8. Mauer taught him everything.
  9. They shoot shortstops, don't they?
  10. It's good where you're going with this. See if you can calculate a few values, and then it may be fun for some of us fans to compute our own.
  11. Ok, not Twins related, and nobody else will care, but too fun a number to pass up. And quite astonishingly impressive. Hank Aaron has an Erdős–Bacon number of 3. Contrast this with Carl Sagan's and Richard Feynman's values of 6 and Natalie Portman's value of 7. What this means: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erdős–Bacon_number
  12. And for your evening's amusement; not science, but, but, literature. Ort sof.
  13. The monkeys got there first. Oh, well.
  14. And for tonight's science viewing pleasure. Caution: there may be California math involved. http://science.kqed.org/quest/video/out-of-the-park-the-physics-of-baseball/
  15. I know taoist's who are a great deal of fun to party with. And you have a large source of typing monkeys available on the web at any given moment. Finite, but unbounded.
  16. Interesting how the topic of these threads morph. Anyway, nice to see Mauer have a decent series. Time to see a few more good ones. And Hughes was due to win a bad game after losing a good one in Boston.
  17. The Sumerian written language and the associated clay tablets are among the earliest human writings. Scholarly works from the early 1800s onward have developed some facility translating the various Sumerian documents. Among these is a poem with the English title, "A hymn to Ninkasi." The poem is, in effect, a recipe for brewing beer. A translation from the University of Oxford describes combining bread, a source for yeast, with malted and soaked grains and keeping the liquid in a fermentation vessel until finally filtering it into a collecting vessel. Seems fitting.
  18. Rain off and on. So far not threatening. Just a bit gloomy.
  19. My favorite rendition of Ode to Joy. For today, anyway.
  20. It rained a lot here the other day. Fortunately only on one side.
  21. Jeez, I miss a few days and the place goes to hell in a handbasket. I better go post some soothing chinchilla videos.
