  1. Just came back from a nice walk in scenic Framingham with the Missus, check the score on our pitchers' duel between two aces and see the score is 7-6 in the eighth as expec-... wait what?
  2. Note to self: leave the fart jokes to Chief.
  3. Who, if we try to trade for, require our best player in return. It's hard trading for prospects, except when it's our prospects under discussion.
  4. Back when he lived in the Cities, Chief used to fart in the elevators at the IDS Building. That was disgusting on so many levels.
  5. He might've. You can't always hear in time.
  6. Awright, WHO CRIED HAVOC? I want names.
  7. I think Pressly has one option remaining.
  8. This is my current bugaboo, so, sorry, but... Melo is on the 40-man and is currently playing in the minors, therefore his option for 2017 is already exercised. Move him up and down, as desired, the rest of the season.
  9. Seth offered a nice paragraph on Ben in his Kernels Report this week.
  10. Thanks! We forgot about blush/rose' blends! Now that we're up to 3 boxes, you're on for whichever Bark and I don't chug.
  11. Shhh! I have two unexpired Warning Points at home, and can't afford to be assessed a third!
  12. I mostly would have said it the same, but I'm undecided whether the more important factor is the professional instruction or the level of competition - also for guys like Chris Colabello who languish for years in the independent leagues.
  13. I hope you're classy enough to know whether to bring red or white wine for meatloaf.
  14. No chicken dinnah tonight, sadly. Mrs Ash is making meatloaf though. It is absorbent and will help dry my tears over this game. / actually it's a family favorite
  15. One cries havoc and lets slip the dogs of war, but I'm not sure what's the correct treatment of the hounds of hell. I'll ask my local vet, next time I have our cat in for a tuneup and oil change.
  16. Rortvedt is my Adopt-A-Prospect so I am always happy to see him written up. Do you agree with my adjective for him that he possesses the highly desirable quality of being "quiet" behind the plate? I imagine him being an umpire favorite. He's just so composed.
  17. Hokay, so it's a reasonable question, and one that can be looked up. I'm a sucker for that. Major league 2017: Bases empty: 18922 PA, 601 HR ... 3.2% Men on base: 14286 PA, 415 HR ... 2.9% Twins 2017: Bases empty: 568 PA, 16 HR ... 2.8% Men on base: 466 PA, 15 HR ... 3.2% Unless I did the math wrong, it looks the reverse of what was expected. In addition, the Twins are having a larger proportion of men-on situations than average. But it's early in the season, so not much to read into yet.
  18. On the bright side, I have filed away the useful information that "as expected" does not function as an anti-jinx.
  19. Am I wrong, or don't we trail the solo homer count 2-1 in this particular game?
