  1. Bottom of the second, 0-0, GCL Twins are hitless through their two innings. This has been your Circus Boy game thread Update.
  2. I think this article is a little behind the times. Duffey's three highest-leverage appearances have all been in the month of June. Two successes, one fail IMO (whether or not the runs counted as earned). 21 batters faced in those 3 games, 12 outs recorded. Jury's out, I'd say, but it's not been stellar. His OPS is better than league average, and for relievers I find that a simpler way to assess results than to pick through unearned runs and inherited runners and so forth. I guess the braintrust noticed too, and decided to start testing him a little more when it matters, about three weeks ago.
  3. I believe that if the player is selected by another team via waivers, the contract goes with him to the new team.
  4. "That's a nice young second baseman you've got. Name of Lowe, right? Be a shame if someone was to set fire to him. Fires happen. Fings burn."
  5. He's played nowhere but LF this season (except for a little DH). We've seen some head scratching choices for our AAA players, but it still would seem very odd to do it this way unless the braintrust sees him playing some in the outfield when he is called up. The one game I saw of him in person, nothing remarkable comes to mind. He'll apparently make the routine plays.
  6. Ask him his memories from the Cape Cod league. Looks like he may have moved around a lot - born in NJ, high school in FL, college in MA. Some stories behind that?
  7. Then you may want to take a look at Brent Rooker's AAA numbers too. Less glove, more OPS goodness, and he's on base at a .400 clip now. He's not on the 40-man, of course, which was the thrust of my comment about Wade. But that isn't a major obstacle if they want to add him.
  8. If you want satire, give RandBall's Stu an infraction warning point for his persistent and blatant trolling. That'll put you on his radar.
  9. Sick burn to the batter, bro
  10. They've hit 141 so far this season, so your odds have been actually pretty good.
  11. SANO !!!! Glad I stayed for one more batter.
  12. A true expert in multi-tasking. I shouldn't have attempted to watch this game - gotta get up early tomorrow. I'll leave you with this final bit of wisdom.
  13. Nelson Cruz: professional hit-man.
  14. You don't suppose a parasite could be Jake's trouble, could it?
  15. After punting away that two-run rally in the top of the inning, the task facing our offense begins to remind me of the myth of Sisyphus. Doesn't matter how professionally they roll that rock up the hill - next inning, have to do it all again.
  16. You have a sick sense of what constitutes a good time. I admire that in a person.
  17. Good time for a strikeout.
  18. Straight in to Castro to get the signs. Hasn't missed one yet.
