    After Fridays game, Angel is in a 10-25 stretch to drive the line to .268/.346/.449. With 254 career games in Fort Myers, you get to wonder if the 'only' 23 yr old will ever hit New Brit. With ARichardson promoted to ROC, this seems a solid time to replace him as Rock Cats are severely lacking in OFs. Twins may also make him wait another month untill Buxton pushes him out. There are several hitters that have struggled in FLA that have recently improved their numbers nicely in AA, wondered if Angel could be one of em.

    Must not have been much in the tank as he pitched 4gms 4IP 2h 1er 3bb 2k.....not too terrible Could it have been only a roster reason as I believe he was technically rehabbing in AAA

    Seth & I disagree on this constantly. Twins admit themselves, they are one of the more conservative teams in moving players thru the system & that drives me crazy. Seth agrees with it & they've had a solid 10 yr run doin it their way. Im not saying rush guys at all, but the 'paint by numbers' approach frustrates me to no end. One thing that has come out the past 3 yrs or so is MN is showing that once a hitter reaches AA & produces, that's all the farther a player needs to go. Pitchers are a different story & thats fine. Knowing that, its not as difficult to move thru the system. I dont care who disagrees, the reason for keeping Arcia/Hicks away last Sept was money/arbitration/service time driven. If both are up for good (Arcia is IMO/Hicks??), bein up last Sept wouldnt change anything as Arcia is on track for a full season of service time( how it was explained on MLB tv anyways) , even tho he played 9 gms in AAA. Wasted a month of experience that went to Matt Carson.

    What's was the actual Roberts knee injury?? Whenever there is a need for a 40 man roster spot, I predict Liam will be DFA'd as he's seen the last of a MN Twins uniform.

    Make no mistake, I absolutely get why they did Murphy.....they are a very cheap organization who fret about airfare/short term team charges. Same reason that Hicks/Arcia didnt get callups in Sept with roster spots open. They arent willing to give a real prospect a promotion untill they deem they've payed their dues or reached a certain age (not by actually doin their job). They were afraid Walker will handle Ft Myers before their 'planned' date has arrived.

    After Adams mothers day of 4-7 w/2doubles 2HR 7 rbi.....he sits at .321 (12th in MWL)/.369/.664(1st in MWL--Buxton only other over .600) for 4th in OPS w/1.033. He leads lg w/9HR & 40RBI , 7th w/10 doubles, 2nd w/4 triples, tied for 2nd w/26runs scored BUT only tied for 20th in Ks w/31(3rd on team) Still stunned that when Ft Myers needed an extra OF, they called up his U of Jax teammate Jonathon Murphy (19th round last yr) from EST. Murphy struggled in GCL last yr but jumped over ELIZ/MWL to go directly to Ft Myers. He has played well but this makes NO sense, as many will say Walker isnt ready, but Murphy is??? Nothing left for Walker to prove at low A....no need to wait till All Star Gm to appease fans in Iowa.

    Very little was made of this 29 yr old journeyman centerfielder when the Twins signed him this offseason.A 35th round pick in 2005 out of Vanderbilt, the slight 5'8 165 pounder was released in 09 after topping out in AA. He played 457gms w/SF getting 1447ABs posting a respectable .274/BAve w/.354slgg (43doubles 21 triples 10Hr). He took 231 bb's w/44hbp for a very nice .390OBP. He swiped 188 bases in 225 attempts (83.5%) to go w/323Ks. After playing independant ball for parts of 09/10, he signed w/ATL for next 2 yrs (10/11) playing 165 of 174gms in AA again posting a AA line of 544ABs for .281/.407/.322 17 doubles 1triple 1hr 41rbi w/41/49sb's (101bb's 23hbp 114K's). He was promoted to Braves for 9gms getting 4ABs & got 2hits w/sb. He signed w/Balt in 11 but had to play 90 of his 99gms in AA again getting 290 AA ABs w/.279/.415/.331 4doubles 4 triples Hr 15rbi 26/31sb's 61bb 60KsSo far in New Brit this year, Richardson is 4th in BAve (.336) 2nd in OBP (.456) & leads the Eastern Lg w/14SBs in 199att, 4th in runs scored w/26 but he cant get a sniff of AAA. When Clete Thomas/Evan Bigley got hurt, they recalled a C to move Chris Hermann to the OF rather than promote Richardson. Think this guy is getting a raw deal. He is an OBase machine with great speed

    I cant even remember the last time the Twins took a top arm in the top 5. Sorry but this was YOUR question & I just answered it, not saying to NOT take a power collegiate pitcher, cause thats what I want them to do.

    Goin back thru the 1987 gamescores of Twins @ BOS, there was no game that they lost 8-7 on a walkoff by Todd Benzinger......made some of it all up, but good story tho Won in BOS June 1st, lost next 2 both in walkout fashion 6-5 & 7-6(this was Mike Greenwell tieing the gm in 9th w/hr w/one out--not 2, but Lombo was PH for in 7th inning, not 4th like Gladden said, which embarrassed him.) Funny how players are sure of details but they dont realize that people can check up on them (baseball reference). Blyleven is worst at this....Patrick Reusse checks up regularly on Berts stories & corrects em.

    How does Jonathon Murphy & Joel Licon go from EST (after GCL ball) to High A ball but guys like Adam Walker/Byron Buxton cannot get a promotion when they clearly earn it. Any word on Nate Roberts, or can we just write him off as another injury-riddled Brandon Roberts type??

    I wasnt even in the camp for Sanchez or Grienke but I was looking at Jeremy Guthrie last yr & was laughed at, even when I tried to support it (velocity is higher than most Twins, ERA solid in hitter friendly Camden Yds, pitches 200 innings yearly, W-Ls are irrelevant to me). Goin 3 yrs 27m w/him wasnt either risky financially or statistically.

    3 of his 4 starts have been bad (unless you consider 3 or 4 runs in 5 innings good)....while most people are giving him credit for having a solid game in a huge blowout when the Mets had shut it down. He's a AAA pitcher who hasnt been impressive at all.

    I agree he wasnt ready in April, but at 25 yrs old, the long term development option is over. This is the problem with college draftees who miss time with injuries. He isnt a typical prospect anymore, as he is already on the older side & is wasting away his first option year. Its sink or swim time for him.

    Both Pinto/Hermann have shots at bein major leaguers real soon. Hermann's ability to play a legit LF position also gives versatility to 3rd C spot. Remains to be seen if TR will look into dealing Doumit as a vet bat/C could have some value at trading time.

    I still think the twins are a 85/90 loss team BUT if the organization thinks they can contend (or stay around their current .500 level), Gibson should be recalled immediately for Pedro. Cmon, what does Hernandez have goin for him in the future as a starter?? Kyle can use up his innings by mid AUG, when Trevor May/Alex Meyer can be recalled to fill in.

    Since April 24--12gms--13/44 (.295) 8runs 4db 2trp hr (.545 slgg) 3rbi 16k 3bb 2hbp (.367obp) solid .912OPS over 2wks Could see him to take over for Hicks soon, but Ive never believed that he is a favorite of Terry Ryans.
