  1. Agree, of course. Was thinking of how infuriated he made the Royals last week with the fist pump. A little payback for how aggravating the Royals have been this year.
  2. Yes please, Soler as final out. Maybe give Romo the honor? ;-)
  3. Look for scores of tell-all books from umpires next year along the lines of "My Half-Year with Room Service."
  4. If you can't hit the ball (remember all of Soler's whiffs last weekend), hit the catcher's glove. Something did seem off there.
  5. I was going for a more plainspoken pain in the rear end.
  6. So you're saying that McRae was a Royal pain in the caudal terminus of the GI tract?
  7. And the current score is... 4-2. Seems familiar.
  8. Wow, that's a real confidence-builder there. Good man, Duffy!
  9. The Royals have been whiners and moaners this year when playing the Twins. Squash 'em.
  10. This is getting personal: that's three line drives in two nights directly at our pitcher. I liked how nonchalant Dobnak was after catching that shot. Time to turn it on, guys.
  11. Good test for Randy today. These Royal pains in the --- have seen him as recently as a week ago. I expect him to keep doing what he's been doing -- love the guy already -- but there may be a few longish at bats. Really hoping to see one or more of our guys break out at the plate.
  12. I don't see a lot of mandatories on Randy's to-do list. If he just keeps doing what he's doing and continues tweaking his stuff, he'll be fine far into the future. I see him as one of our 2 or 3 most reliable starters for the next ten years. Assuming continued good health, which I'll happily wish him here.
  13. Not a lineup I expected to see this year. Oh well, wrack the Royals. Beat them like a drum. Sergio pitching just to stay fresh, not because he's needed as a closer. Bring the brooms, Twins.
  14. A thousand times, yes. Crazy year. Crazier if we didn't have baseball. Unthinkable even. (Now crossing fingers.)
  15. Sorry you had to write about this game, Patrick. Yuck. Hard to watch. I can't imagine summoning the energy to revisit all the excruciating details. I do think we'll see Tortuga. I wouldn't mind seeing Duran get the call as well. Both moves might inject some life into this club.
  16. My picks to click: Garver and Sano. Because why not? Righties against a lefty. They're due.
  17. Dan Hayes of The Athletic says the Royals have a reputation for being whiners. That's what we saw on display yesterday. Hope our nine can shut them down -- and up -- again tonight. Unleash the kraken!
  18. Seth, why do you prefer Telis over Astudillo? I like the intangibles Tortuga brings, especially his gung-ho, all-for-one, one-for-all attitude. There's the situational flexibility aspect as well, what with all the positions he plays. Is Telis so much better as a catcher?
  19. I'd like Rooker but expect to see Astudillo before him. Doesn't Rooker have first base experience also? That along with his right-handedness, AAA experience, and 40-man roster considerations (see rdehring above) argue for him over the others -- as much as I'm looking forward to seeing all of them get a shot soon.
  20. I love seeing Eddie coming to the plate right now. Let's hope he can sustain his newfound patience through the end of the year. I don't think his odds of locking in a long-term contract with the Twins are especially great, given our wealth (some might say glut) of corner outfield prospects, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Twins find a way. I've liked his bat since day one in 2015 with his first-at-bat homer.
  21. Shameful. Time to put Meals on wheels and get him out of there. Dude doesn't belong anywhere near a ballpark.
  22. Yes, rain delay. It pains me to say this, but I'm starting to think of today's lineup with Avila in it as our A lineup. We need Mitch to get it going.
  23. That lineup is a thing of beauty. Finally, the gang's all here. Bombas away!
  24. ...plastics." ...thing." ...Coke." ...standard." ...baseline." I think the word you want is "differentiator."
