    The bottom line is if your LF/DH carries and OPS of .595 for most of the year, you're likely headed for trouble. Even if you stick him at SS he's currently performing below 2013 Pedro Florimon standards, without the defense.

    IMO I think that year suggests a good amount of luck, most of his metrics that year were well beyond his career norms.

    How do you justify Escobar being a quality hitter, because he puts the ball in play a lot? When did that become the stat to measure things by? He has a.228/.250/.345/.595 line, .283 BABIP, an almost 25% K rate, a paltry 2% BB rate and a 117 ISO. Honest to god how does any of this describe a "quality hitter". That's rediculous. Ridiculous

    Word of advice, most Google images are not supported, you have to go to the actual website they originated from. They sometimes will work however.

    Defensively? Sure, if TR and Molly don't want someone who can only DH and not play a position, I somewhat get it (although not that much) . Imo, the things Arcia needs to work through at the plate don't exist in AAA, the pitchers down there are not going to consistently feed him the off speed and breaking stuff he struggles with. He'd be better off working on that with Bruno and the Twins. But this is a rehash of the other thread, I'm out.

    I thought we were talking about this season? He misplayed a lot of things last year but the general consensus must be his defense has improved overall, quite dramatically. I've seen him drop step the wrong way occasionally on hard hit balls over his head but overall I'm not sure substantial enough evidence exists that he has some big issue on hits close to the fence. Fenway is such a goofy place, he hasn't played there much and it likely requires a few go rounds to get a feel for where to be on various balls.
