  1. 1. Hicks probably should have caught that ball, but it was ripped, let's not pretend it was some routine fly ball Dunce brilliantly induced. 2. How does anyone interested in a winning team defend Duensing? 3. My standard response with Duensing is always......sigh .
  2. Depends on your definition of a haul, I think a haul might be worth it. Not a Sano/Buxton haul but just about anyone else should be in play realistically.
  3. Seriously though, Hicks has had the massive bullseye on him from the day they drafted Buxton, the universally agreed upon heir apparent just waiting to assume his rightful place. Hicks was only ever going to save himself as a starter by proving he could hit, with at least a modicum of power so he could possibly be a corner OF. He doesn't and his future is either as a 4th OF or elsewhere. That isn't just based on last night's play
  4. This board and drama go hand in hand.
  5. They may not be the reason for losing but they definitely aren't going to help win very much either. Nobody is saying the main contributors don't have to get their act together and contribute but I'm not sure what sitting on your hands and writing in the likes of Robinson in the 2 hole, Suzuki at #5, Escobar as a DH/LF and putting Nunez anywhere in the infield is intended to accomplish. People are just discussing what they think could be viable alternatives and if it takes a little while to show results, are we any further behind than sticking with that motley bunch? That's why I'm ok with Rosario sticking around, let him figure it out at the plate and continue to play good defense instead of pretending Escobar or Nunez will ever be the answer. Nobody said saviour or anything of the sort…………..and don't get me started on the bullpen.
  6. He's no Ned Braeden, put it that way.
  7. Bring up more players who are good at baseball and get rid of the ones who are not good at baseball. A guy who's been around as long as Ryan should know who belongs in those two groups.
  8. All of 2 games ago.....send him back down.
  9. Here's a couple of questions. Did anyone think the game was going to turn the Twins way once the KC bullpen entered the game? Did anyone think the Twins bullpen wasn't going to give up any more runs? I know my answers.
  10. Ditto, keep Polanco up when Rosario is back and ditch one of them.
  11. Rally monkey of course......as if there's another answer, pfft!
  12. Well, there's........uhhh, he can......hmmm,....because .....yeah, that's it, because.
  13. Just based on your transformational claim and the fact that Escobar was occupying the DH spot prior to Vargas coming back up. Also, your language seems pretty absolute that Vargas has no chance against a major league breaking ball.
  14. Unlike Escobar's transformational bat at the DH spot? He has "no chance": against a major league breaking ball so the best plan is to then keep him at AAA where he'll never see one and therefore learn to recognize one? Personally I don't care much if he trades places with Arcia, as long a one of them hits. If Bruno can't straighten out either one of them then it could be a problem but we're a long way off from that. I'd rather have one of them trying to work it out and pose at least a semblance of a threat as opposed to writing in Suzuki at the 5 spot, Robinson in the 2 hole and pretending Escobar is a DH.
  15. I think the only ones outside of Hunter's family that can attest to his character are his teammates, and they seem to appreciate him. I just don't how many wins it adds.
  16. Well I agree, I'd just like to see if some value might come up on guys like Arcia and Pinto, it can't go much lower.
  17. Well, multiple people suffering an apoplexy would make things pretty quiet around here, but I get your point. I think it's more likely that the entire site as we know it melts down and breaks the internet.
  18. Vargas will help I'm certain of that, he's at least something for the opposing pitcher to fear in the middle of the order. Santana going down will get rid of that black hole he had become in the order and at the same time has the added bonus of keeping Escobar and/or Nunez out of LF (hopefully). Plouffe needs to get going again at the plate and Hughes needs to start dialing it in and getting his fastball back on the edges. Oh the bullpen.....
  19. Absolutely, but making moves doesn't necessarily mean trades. I think most people are just advocating promotions within the system like we just saw with Vargas. Next step is to get rid of the one too many pitchers we have and some of the more awful ones replaced. I will say it's awfully hard to see this club not making a trade at some point in the near future with so many guys profiling so similar. I just don't see Arcia, Vargas, Pinto and Sano all fitting on the roster together. Sano will be here, Vargas is here but has to prove he can stay and the other two need to do something to show they are a better option. The only thing Pinto has going for him is he is a catcher, just not a very good one. I agree it's too soon to make any of those decisions right now.
  20. For me too. I don't actually believe you're sore, I know you're a fan of this team as much as anyone. Just giving you a little stick about your opening line.
  21. Triumphantly returned to propel the team to its destiny? A little sore are we? I'll say he goes. 315/.435, not that he needs to in order to better the DH spot. Also agree that it could be short lived if he doesn't get it going and Arcia does in AAA. I don't really care as long as it's one of them, a little competition like that is what this club needs.
