  1. You could be right but the game will last until sometime tomorrow.
  2. The Twins are scoring some runs today. Could you imagine how many runs they would have scored if Nolasco was pitching for the Orioles?
  3. I agree but I think Buxton is already the starting opening day CF. Too late to turn back now. Rosario in CF or Sweeney or Mastro or Benson in CF would be big mistakes.
  4. Nice double by Buxton Hopefully we can say nice Triple by Dozier
  5. I think Pitching is gonna hate Pitching in the AL this year.
  6. It may not be fair but I'm having a hard time liking Quentin. He's got White Sox stuff all over him,
  7. If the Orioles don't lead the majors in home runs. It will be a long year in Baltimore.
  8. The Orioles signed Pedro Alverez!!! I have no idea what Kim is capable of... but... the other projected starting 8 are all capable of 30 dingers.
  9. It's really kinda strange. It's like Molitor is doing it on purpose. Molly: FSN is broadcasting it? OK.. Let Ricky know he's starting
  10. This is awesome It's Sunday and I'm watching baseball
  11. Let's say Bryce hits one 500 feet and he stands and watches it. (BTW... If I hit one 500 feet... I'd want to watch it). He's met by the catcher at home plate. After some shouting back and forth. Harper goes back to the dugout and the pitcher... let's say... Matt Harvey returns to the mound. Ryan Zimmerman strolls to the plate knowing he's gonna wear one. Sure enough.. 1st pitch. Zimmerman turns and takes it in the back. Just like it's supposed to happen. But... Unfortunately... The Ball broke one of Zimmerman's ribs and now he's out for the rest of the season and its August and the Nationals are tied with the Mets in the standings. Zimmerman has to be taken out of the game. So Revere is brought in to pinch run and he steals 2nd and scores on a single and now it's gone from a 500 ft. home run to A 500 ft. home run plus a free fast base runner and an additional run scored against a team you are battling with for a playoff spot Plus a season ending injury. And... And... because Zimmerman is out for the year... The next day is game two of the series and Scherzer is gonna be throwing at Granderson? Wright? Cespedes? It's the proportional response... It's built into the game... There is no virtue in it anymore. And this is all Bryce Harper's fault cause he broke an unwritten rule. Unwritten Rules are stupid and the self policing of those unwritten rules are even more stupid.
  12. i think it's about depth and I think it's about options. Pitchers get hurt. You can't pick 5 of them and call it good for the year. You need to be able to stash a few on the farm if you can. You can't stash Nolasco in Rochester but you can stash Berrios and wait for the big league injury that will happen. If you cut your vets and put the kids with options on the big club. You kill your depth and you have nowhere to go. I also believe... Duffey is not a lock for the rotation... For this very reason. I also think this is a sensible way to manage the staff in consideration of the CBA.
  13. I loved reading those comments from Park. If that's the case.. Park and I are going to get along fine. On Burdi: The first time I saw him pitch was when he was with Louisville. The Twins had just drafted him and Louisville was on TV so I was eager to watch. He was bringing it but his mechanics were a mess. His front foot was landing all over the place and he was falling off the mound toward the 1st base side consistently. Don't get me wrong... I was glad the Twins drafted him because he may have hit triple digits in the game but I knew that the Twins had some work to do. I hadn't seen him pitch again until yesterday and his mechanics are much better. This shows me that he's coachable and I believe he'll be a bullpen star eventually. He isn't ready yet though because he needs work on a secondary pitch. That slider was hanging every time. Unless he was having a bad day with it... The pros will put that in the seats. When he masters an off speed pitch to go with that heat... He'll be a monster. I'm very excited.
  14. OK but with that attitude I can no longer let you coach my team. However... I still they think you are a good dude so I'll let you be the traveling secretary or something.
  15. Maybe but you are Joe Benson and you need a job and it's the 9th inning and you are down a run. Brian Dozier has a job guaranteed and he pushed for a lead off triple in the 1st inning. And those people in the stands paid money to watch. That effort bugs me to the bone.
  16. I really hope Molitor was checking his cell phone and missed it because that pat on the back needs to be retracted this morning. Beresford... Should be attempting to communicate something but getting line of sight that quickly would have been tough from the third base side on a grounder to 2B.
  17. No excuse for that... None. I don't care if it's spring training. And... And... What was Molly watching? He good job patted Benson on the backside when he returned to the dugout.
  18. Yep... I agree. I want to be on record that I agree. Just in case people think I don't agree because I was quoted to help make the point.
  19. Kyle Schwarber... Ian Desmond... Kris Bryant played some OF last year and the Cubs just threw him out there. Hanley... Yeah I know... but the Red Sox boldly went there because they've seen it done before. The Orioles have jammed quite a few into the OF. And... And... OF are moved to 1B frequently. Sometimes you just gotta get a bat in the lineup. Sano in RF with no minor league experience isn't new ground. Bartlett was new ground... Bartlett was complete out of the box thinking. Bartlett was an ex-Twin that was signed to be insurance for Hicks in the OF. Hicks ended up not cutting it and Bartlett quit because he looked even worse and it was done without a net. Bartlett was strangely chosen over other options.
  20. I really don't like saying bad things about players... Current or Ex. However... Let's be honest. It would take real effort to reach the Nishioka level of bust. The scouting department would have to do a dinner for schmucks type thing to pull it off. We shouldn't see anything like Nishioka again in our lifetime.
  21. Incredible Poetry!!! It takes Genius to rhyme outfielder with 2014.
  22. Not here but I think they are worried in Hawaii
  23. Like a bear... You have surfaced.
