  1. Jeez... We need the Yanks to slow down a little so we can catch up. If they stop scoring for the next 28 Innings... We might do it.
  2. He's actually 1 of 7 catchers on the D-Backs 25 man roster.
  3. I see... You attend the Boston Marathon and see these people sprint around one time and now your an expert on product placement.
  4. It’s big, four-game series that kicks off tonight in the Bronx as the Twins and Yankees go to battle in a series that could really help the Rays. Everyone is kind of numb in Twins Territory right now after the weekend in Tampa. If you look at it correctly… it can make you kind of proud. Contributing to charity should make you feel good because there are people out there who really need our help. The Rays came into the weekend 5-13 and now they have hope at 8-13. The Twins can continue to help the needy Rays by knocking the Yankees down a peg. This is all important to AL East people. We are okay over in the AL Central. Always remember it’s a marathon and not a sprint. Here are some things to think about: 1. Top Non-Trump News Story (Or Stories): A Colorado woman is facing a $500 fine from U.S. Customs and Border Protection for saving a free apple she received as a snack from Delta Air Lines. Toward the end of her flight from Paris, airline attendants passed out apples in a plastic bag as a snack. She wasn’t hungry so she put the apple in her carry-on. According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website, “every fruit or vegetable must be declared to a CBP agriculture specialist or CBP officer and must be presented for inspection. This free apple caused a $500 fine and it seems that mercy isn’t going to be granted. A spokesman for Delta Air Lines said that giving away free apples, tipping off the CBP and then splitting the revenue has produced a handsome new revenue stream. 2. Our Twins: It’s a marathon… not a sprint. The baseball schedule is 162 games long and the Twins have played 16 games which is one-tenth of the season (close enough). Being one-tenth through the season makes it incredibly easy to calculate the season win and loss pacing. You just take the wins and losses and times each by 10. The Twins are 8-8 so that calculates to the Twins winning 102 games and losing 60. Don’t question it. We were just swept by the Rays. If you just go along with it, you will feel better. 3. The Yankees: Here they come. Let me list some of the players our pitching staff must face: Brett Gardner, Aaron Judge, Didi Gregorius, Giancarlo Stanton, Gary Sanchez and Aaron Hicks; plus Glayber Torres has arrived just in time to add to the pile. Many will look at the lineup and think that the Yankees have very few holes but the Yankees are not as strong as you think they are. For example, if all of those players got hurt at the same time, I don’t think Cashman prepared the team for that possibility and this has left the team vulnerable. 4. Today’s Joe M Conversation: Mauer: Do you know what this world needs? Montana: Valet parking at emergency rooms. Maddon: A transparent toaster so you can see the condition of the toast. McCarthy: Lucky Charms cereal that is just marshmallows. Morgan: Mirrors that also take pictures. Mauer: I was gonna say "love," but I like those ideas better. 5. Pencils: Shouldn’t the #2 Pencil be #1 by now? ____________________ Lineups: TWINS Brian Dozier(R ) 2B Joe Mauer(L) 1B Miguel Sano(R ) 3B Eddie Rosario(L) LF Logan Morrison(L) DH Eduardo Escobar(S) SS Max Kepler(L) RF Ryan LaMarre(R ) CF (okay, Brian, this is on you ) Jason Castro(L) C Jake Odorizzi(R ) P YANKEES Brett Gardner(L) LF Aaron Judge(R ) RF Didi Gregorius(L) SS Giancarlo Stanton(R ) DH Gary Sanchez(R ) C Aaron Hicks(S) CF Tyler Austin(R ) 1B Miguel Andujar(R ) 3B Gleyber Torres(R ) 2B Masahiro Tanaka(R ) P Game-time forecast: mostly sunny with no rain (or snow), 53 deg F, winds at 5mph from the SSE Click here to view the article

  6. I know... You always hate it when the team spends money.
  7. I did not comment in the thread. Phew I'm free to be certain of myself.
  8. I am asking for opportunity. I get small sample sizes and I'm saying that 7 for 12 doesn't prove anything about his past or future but it does say that he deserves a chance to try and go 10 for 16 right now and so on. Let Ryan LaMarre determine if he is a major league ball player. I'm not comfortable with any manager making the decision for him. I have a lot of responses to respond to and I don't want to turn last nights game into a discussion on LaMarre so I will start a new thread with my thoughts nutshelled to the best of my ability (which is a low bar to clear).
  9. He hasn't had enough plate appearances to qualify for "Struck out a lot". He hasn't had enough plate appearances to qualify for "No XBH" He hasn't had enough plate appearances to qualify for "He's been Lucky" He hasn't had enough plate appearances to qualify for "an everyday job in the major leagues either". The underlying numbers don't clearly show anything. I'm asking for LaMarre to get the opportunity to get some actual underlying numbers.
  10. MLB had a better view of it. I think Duke may have got the bag but regardless... It was poor execution by Duke to give the ump a chance to miss the call.
  11. Well Duke screwed that one up big time. Pitchers have to have that down pat. Misses the base and then forgets about the runner. Oh Well.. Tomorrow is another day.
  12. The game is tied. We were down by 4 and the game is tied.
  13. Chief to Molly "And I need a Solid 9 out of you there Skip".
  14. Does Colome usually do the Rodney hat tilt thing?
  15. I wonder what the exit velo was on the ball hit by Miller. It looked around 363 MPH.
